Hmm i could swear I was told that Gaudreau didn't go to the hospital.
https://www.nhl.com/flames/video/alb...092/c-47383303
The one you are mentioning with Halloween was something that Backlund, Tkachuk and Hamilton started, and it's only about 5 guys that do that each year.
Gio never went to those Halloween events either, guess he's terrible in the community too.
It's a POS take that had no justification outside of just being overly negative about the player and this team.

I mean, is he Backlund or Stajan, etc? Maybe not but older players often do more and often their wives play a big part too. And often guys that go above and beyond have personal connections like Backlund with ALS etc.
Gaudreau also does community stuff in NJ - scholarship golf tournament, etc.

Imagine doubling down on this
Gaudreau donated a private on ice session to be auctioned off to the children's wish charity I am involved in and various other things over the last 7 years.
He does this personally not even trough the Flames. Stop posting in this thread now, stick to horrible hockey takes.

I'm going to sound off here.
This is straight tire-fire garbage.
First thing: The Calgary Flames have high expectations of all players to participate and engage in community/charitable activities. This is not optional. As far as I'm aware, it's a lot higher than most NHL teams. I believe Brian Burke (and others before him) was very involved in raising the bar even further for this.
Second thing: In addition to the above, Gaudreau works extensively with KidSport with his time and money. I've seen it over and over again with my own eyes.
Third thing: Some players prefer to do their own thing and/or keep it quiet. Miikka was notorious for this. There are a great deal of things players do (JG included) that aren't publicized due to privacy and/or personal reasons.
Lastly, if you're going to make accusations of that nature... bring receipts. Can't? Oh right, that's because you're completely talking out of your ass. Go crawl back under the bridge you came from.
I have a great many things I can grouse about with the Calgary Flames. However, the Flames Foundation is not one of them.

One of the better posts I've ever seen here.
The Flames are exceptionally community minded. Their owners throughout the years have given back so, so much to the community at large. And so have their players. And as stated, often without formal recognition.

I think it's time for another timeout for this poster...lying about charity to hate on the Flames is too much

What, The annual photo op of 4 flames (dougie) isn’t enough proof to say Johnny, alone, is the least community involved player on the team???

The only bad thing Johnny ever did in the community was this.

I personally know the staff there (and related organizations) pour countless hours into these events/endeavours to create wins for the community. Some drive money and press. Some don't.
I've seen literally ALL players do the same.
It's upsetting to know some neckbearded keyboard warrior bridge troll can stroll in here thinking he/she is special with some emo-level hot-take and not understand the real-world damage it can potentially cause.

I know Bobby Orr tried really hard to hide all the charitable activities that he did. Whenever he does nice things, he keeps it in secret. So there's tons of anecdotes about his generosity, but very little actual news (unless those anecdotes are published).
I'm not overly fond of punishing those who are humble enough to minimize the publicity of their good deeds.
So it's hard to judge to judge with these things.
But guys like Backlund clearly do an insane amount of work in the community. It's also good to set an example, because the players are role models.

If Knightslayer triples down without actually providing anything to back up his ####### claims I think he should be banned.
These players put up with enough scrutiny from the fan base. They don't need morons on here making false claims about their charitably etc.

Maybe one could argue that Gaudreau does little more charity work than the team mandate. But to say he doesn't do anything is misguided and misinformed.
Even as a fan who prefers to see Johnny moved more than anyone else on the roster, I don't need to lessen the man.

I wouldn't argue with the idiot.
We don't know what Gaudreau or any other player does with their private time and money other than when it gets publicized.

That's because Bobby was humble. You do charity work for those in need, not for you. If you start advertising all the charity work that you did then you make it about you. It's not about you it's about those receiving the help.
Maybe Johnny is a little bit humble when it comes to charity work too?

I'm also confident that Burkie also implemented mandatory participation for all players in charity within the community, or expanded the already in place requirements from previous regimes.

Just ban him...like I said earlier I am involved in a few children's wish events and Gaudreau helped many times. He is by far the most requested player he can't do everything.
At the last event this past summer he donated an hour on ice session to be auctioned. Its not a competition but I think you would be hard pressed to find many Allstars that would be willing to go skate with randos for charity

Gaudreauvertime is rolling in his grave somewhere right now with this Johnny hate.

Isn't this poster also known as the guy who wipes and then throws the used tp into the wastebasket? Easily one of the weirdest things I've ever read here.
