Dammit, Johnston, not you too with that CAL crap.

Anyway, good for Gawdin making the team out of camp. This won't be his last trip to Calgary this season.

Apparently Gawdin has been waived by the California Golden Seals.

Maybe the Banff Fighting Squirrels will pick him up.

He was practicing yesterday, so I think so? I'm not sure if he was practicing already prior to yesterday. Would be nice to get everyone back.

It's not unexpected, as you know they are going to give Richardson a chance, but if the job of a fourth line role player is to play uneventful minutes then Gawdin was getting the job done well. He's 2nd on the team at preventing chances against among forwards who played both games (9.89 scoring chances against per 60) and second last in generating scoring chances among forwards (26.37 per 60).

Personally, I would prefer to see Ritchie dropped out of the line up to make room, but again with a center coming back and Gawdin still having room to develop, I don't see an issue with sending him down.

It looks like Richardson is getting activited from the IR, so I wonder if he'll be good to go or if he'll need a practice or two first? If he's ready to play, and with Pitlick back, then Ritchie could very well be out of the lineup.

He was fine but not so great as to attract a bunch of attention. Most teams have a Gawdin around.

Said it coming into the season ... I don't think Gawdin has the foot speed to be an NHL player. He has other tools for sure, but the boots let him down.

I was at the Ducks game and he looked like he couldn't handle the pace of the NHL, and perhaps Sutter's play quick game plan.

Like keeping prospects around, but I'm not losing sleep over this waiver exposure.

Glad they didn't send Kylington through as well!

I thought he was the least noticeable on his line, which I suppose is fine for a guy like him. But when Lewis is surprising people with his wheels and play and we know Ritchie isn’t slow and has some uses, it’s too bad Gawdin didn’t get some traction.

He's only a second year pro, I'm honestly surprised he was even waiver-eligible. I think his footspeed could improve, although I honestly am more high on Phillips and Ruzicka among the experienced pro bunch.

If Kylington went through Waivers without being claimed, perhaps Gawdin can too.

I hope Gawdin doesn't get claimed.

It's his fourth pro season. His first season in Stockton was 2018-19.
