I like this team. Balanced nicely.
We need a few players to ‘break out’ or else we will remain middling. If that happens, it looks like it will be Mangiapane changing the fortunes of this team

Even Stone there would be a massive improvement.

I was a fan of the Zadorov trade. I don't like how he looks so far. Why is he hunched over more than Lucic?

Kylington-Tanev has all the made-to-be feel of a Cole-Schultz (Pittsburgh b2b cups) type pairing. It needs to happen.

I'm a Stone fan too, but the right side isn't the problem

Backlund has been one of if not the worst forwards so far. People complain about Ritchie but at least he’s trying.

Zadorov is killing Tanev out there, not a fan of these D pairings.
I'm slowly coming to the realization that Valimaki isn't going to be what Id hoped.
We really need Backlund to get going early this year, he always seems to bring it in the second half of the year, but he is still I believe one of our most important players and can be a difference maker.

I hope it's Mangiapane and Dube together. Mangiapane looks closer though.
Coleman will have a net positive effect. Could replace much of the offence we lost with former 30-goal scorer Monahan.

Monahan isn’t flashy and isn’t going to wow you with the puck.
But his play around the net, and his puck retrieval’s have always been overlooked.
He’s been fine tonight.

Tanev is looking bad, is it because of Zadorov?

You can tell the players are still working on communication and chemistry on the back end. Seen a few plays were dmen looking at each other.
Back half of the period a lot more defensive. Still need that next goal as Gibson making it closer than it should be.

I would love to see Taney with Kylington. I think he’s way more effective playing with a guy that can skate even if he’s a bit suspect defensively.

Monahan is special in regards to blowing coverage on the rush and when in the d zone, also while trying to make a play in the offensive zone. Hes just bad. Cant wait till his contract is over.

So we just need to trade Zadorov and Monahan for Eichel is what I’m getting?

I’ve always maintained his defence is good once set up in his own zone. He struggles on transition defence because of his skating.
Offensively I think he’s still got to find his chemistry with Mangiapane. He needs to look for rebounds, because Dube loves the outside shot and Mangiapane likes to net crash.

It's giving me Brodie/Hamonic nightmares again. A pairing that just isn't meant to be together.
Put Zadorov with Andersson and Hanifin with Tanev please

Nah. I said it before the preseason when everyone was jumping on me, Kylington is insanely underappreciated and way better than how the Flames have treated him. I’m blown away at how mismanaged the Flames have handled him.
He makes one mistake is benched for 10 games, meanwhile makes so many nice plays. Meanwhile others make similar mistakes- nothing.
Zadorov gave the puck away multiple times tonight. Same for Tanev. It’s just bias, it’s pretty obvious and that’s all it is.

Is the expectation for Monahan now is just to be responsible defensively?
He seems to be behind Mangi and even Dube on creating offensive chances
