Gundbradson hasn't been terrible. Which is weird.

Zadorov, I'm not so sure about.

Neither player contributes to moving the puck forward/out scoring the opposition while they’re on the ice.

They are junk.

I do not.

It's a lot like Leah Hextall. I want them to be good, and I want them to get the chance to get good, because it would be nice if all our commentators weren't basically the same... But they're just not good. They both have the same problem: sounding like they're trying really, really hard to convince you that they're hockey commentators. "This is a thing a real life hockey commentator might say" is the entire vibe here.
Hockey is meant to be sung. It’s too fast to call any other way.

Bob Cole did it. Peter Maher did it.

Bartlett does it.

You can’t talk hockey. You have to sing the play, from the perspective of the individual who makes a given play.

And above all, less is more. I hate shouty, over the top play by play. It’s the mark of someone who can’t keep up with the game, and it’s disingenuous.

The guy who scored isn’t that excited - why are you?

You’re not. You’re lying, and it sucks.

Yes, TOI does not equal effectiveness.

However, Gudbranson has been effective.

Dude what the #### is Louie Debrusk talking about, at any time, ever? Does he just pull in any hockey cliche that comes into his head and sticks it on whatever player is being highlighted? I feel like he had too much CTE and they stuck a computer AI in his brain that attempts hockey color commentary. Awful.

Maybe. Oilers have goals on two lucky bounces. Draisaitl has been invisible. Yes McDavid has finished on the PP, that is the difference. 5 on 5 he has done little.

In the game I'm watching Flames carrying the play and have 33 shots through 2 periods.

Not saying Flames top players have been great, I'm just not ready to jump all over them before we have even finished two periods of the season.

Gudbranson’s rush led directly to Mangiapane’s goal.

Is it smart to do that when most nights they are out produced by other top players?

Look, McDavid got a really fortunate bounce on one goal.

He has produced, but that was capitalizing on a fluke

I'll be the outlier, but Johnny isn't worth more than 7m. He's good, but not that great. The last two seasons you can see he's been figured out. And has no physical pushback in today's game. I love him, but... Meh.

It's ridiculously unfair that the Oilers have 2 of the top offensive players in the league. The Hockey God's are bags of dicks!

Sportsnet loves to get a "storyline" and then milk the absolute ever loving #### out of it. Repeating it and showing it to you every 3 seconds.

It is so annoying though.

Defensively they’ve been good. Offensively they can’t get a crisp pass in the zone, which requires guys board battles. Our guys are too small for that.
