First, yeah, right, like the NFL needs to "lawyer up", as if they don't have an army of lawyers already.

Second, sue the league? What on Earth for? He wrote the e-mails. It's all true.

Well, the NFL can make all sorts of things go away if they want them to, they have in the past with controversies.

The only emails leaked, of the hundreds of thousands they have as part of the WFT investigation, is Gruden's to Bruce Allen, so it's hardly a coincidence.

The NFL definitely wanted Gruden gone. I assume he had done some things behind the scenes to piss off Goodell or others in NFL circles as a lot of media is now criticizing the NFL because out of thousands of emails uncovered during the investigation, the only information the NFL leaks is pertaining to someone that wasn't even an employee of the organization. That tells me they wanted Gruden out bad enough that they were willing to take on criticism if it meant getting him out of the league.

As a Raiders fan my only gripe is the timing as they had the emails as early as June and didn't act until the Raiders were four games into their season which puts the team in a bad spot having to change coaches in season.

Anyone who thinks this is ending with Gruden is kidding themselves.

This is only the beginning.

The oldest of boys clubs that is the NFL has only recently, in the last 15-20 years, come around to the idea of letting black guys play QB.

They still don't feel comfortable with them being head coaches or GMs.

The corpses of many careers are buried in those 650,000 emails.

Wondering if the some of the complainants in the WFT case can ask the FBI to start looking into this. Snyder has clearly been up to some shady garbage and the NFL seems to be protecting him.

They got a couple of names with Jon Gruden, and Bruce Allen. Sounds like Adam Schefter might also get tossed under the bus a bit for being a puppet of the league. They might offer up a couple more if they think they need to. But the NFL will cover up as much as they need to to keep the owners in the clear unless there is one the rest of them really want to punt.

When it comes to Schefter, isn't it always assumed the top insiders in a sport are generally buddy-buddy with most of the league's/team's higher ups? How else do they get to break everything?

I guess it depends if anyone else directly slagged Goodell. We all know thats the only reason Gruden's emails got leaked.

I guess we'll see how many other Journalists come after him, and call his own credibility into question. No doubt there's thousands of them frothing at the mouth to kill and cancel Schefter and take his perch at the top of the NFL Reporter Food Chain. I think he's got a pretty big target on him now. Fair to say that the NFL has likely done this to get a few of the more ambitious wolves after Schefer, and distracted from going after them.

I think pretty well all insiders need to grease the wheels if they expect to keep their contacts. I don't think there's anything surprising about running an article by one of his sources prior to submitting.

No one in that Field is going to throw away years of work in building relationships to get information over one piece of reporting. So the idea of confirming with a source, and consulting them won't surprise anyone. But within that group (Jounalists and reporters), the idea of letting someone else proof the entire article will ruffle a few feathers.

Browns favored by 3.5 vs. Cards? That seems wrong to me.

OBJ to get traded?

Rule of thumb is that the home team lays 3 points and go from there. It opened at +3 for AZ and has stayed there.

Essentially this game is a pick em in the eyes of the oddsmakers.

The interesting line on this game is the O/U imo.

It started at 53.5 and has gone to 49.5....a huge swing.

I don’t think so. The Browns are the team I’ve feared this whole time. The difference between these two is one having bad luck while the other is having the opposite. The Cards should’ve lost against the Vikings, and I would safely say the Browns should’ve won against the Chiefs or Chargers.

I expect the Browns to win this one this week. If not, well I continue to enjoy my team undefeated .

I've been listening to a lot of NFL Gambling based pod casts and the consensus seems to be that there almost is not Home Field anymore, and if there is, it's 1.5 points at most. Road Dogs have been pretty strong so far this year.

I haven't checked the weather forecast for that game so I imagine that could be a factor. Another interesting thing I heard was that teams who scored 36 points and lost the previous week have a 62.5 cover percentage the following week. So the Browns fall in that category. Teams who won scoring 17 or less points the previous week go over the total 57% of the time the next week.

Tampa's O is elite, but that D is kinda junk this year...I don't get it

The thing is their D wasn't really elite last year either, they just happened to have an all-time dominant Super Bowl performance against an all-time offense. But in general they are the same defense, basically pointless to run against them, but a secondary that is average at best.

Tampa had good luck last year with injuries. When Richard Sherman is starting at corner, you know your in trouble.

And now Sherman is injured.

I swear Tom Brady gets more and more likeable with every snap he takes for the Bucs.

I would say the Eagles have the worst defense in the league, but the Chiefs do exist.
