Oh, they will be. If Vegas does it, it will be a goal. The Flames? Totally a kick.

They shouldn't allow any kind of redirection, if it hits your skates fine but no redirecting.

The only way his skate leaves the ice like that is if he is waving it at the puck.

Bettman and his cronies were probably very confused. Help the new team, or help the newish team. Both teams deep in nhls pockets.

Why does Seattle get only a 1:19 powerplay?

You would think his skate leaving the ice would cement this as a dangerous kicking motion but no since its the outside of the skate that can't be a kick. I swear half the penalties/rules have nothing to do with safety.

4 on 3, then the rest 5 on 4. Weird way to put it on the clock.

What if they made a rule that you can’t go down to block a shot?

Yeah that was a kicking motion, outside of the skate or not. You can kick a ball with the outside of your foot.
Sure he angled his skate but there was a push forward as well.

He is allowed to use his momentum though...I don't doubt the Flames would be screwed there but it seems like a good goal to me.

I want goals that aren't scored soccer style when watching hockey. And also the line between kicking and redirecting is blurred and just random really, both are clear soccer moves.

But it is really arbitrary to allow pucks to bounce off of every body part and into the goal with the single exception of the foot. Especially since you can play tbe puck with your feet everywhere else on the ice. Again, they should all count.

Welcome to the NHL Seattle. The league where you routinely get screwed by the refs.

He caught his edge pushing the skate forward, which is why the skate left the ice or else was going to face plant.
Again, he angled which he can do and of course he was skating forward so had momentum, but it was more than him just reangling his foot.

Why not allow goals scored with you're hands then? Shouldn't be any different than with feet.

Goals that bounce off the hands count. It is a little different, since players are supposed to be using their hands to hold their sticks.
