Mike Gould, that's TheScorpion is it not?

Who is JFresh? For some reason I thought that was TheScorpion as well.

I only know him as Jack from JFresh Hockey. Here's an interview with him on the fan

PS: Yes, Mike Gould is TheScorpion.

Scorp: you think the Flames will miss the playoffs by 8 points... would you like to expand on that? How many points do you think they'll get, and who beats them out?

On the other hand, Tortorella was the only ESPN person who picked the Flames to win the Pacific, out of 22 people.

I've always had a soft spot for Tortorella. Well, at least almost always!

Scorp's predictions are a little dark.

I don't know what to make of those forward lines. Surely Coleman wasn't signed to play the 4th line so assume he would switch out with Dube?

Two years ago if you had said that Kylington would beat out Valimaki in training camp you would be laughed at. It hasn't happened yet mind you.

With Coleman out, I'm still thinking the team might dress 7 D on opening night.

Well the only place where Scorp differs from some of the more frequent posters is that he thinks the Flames will end up further out of the playoffs and he hasn't predicting trading their first to add another Hamonic at the deadline.

To me this is the least amount of optisism that I can remember going into a season since Greg Gilbert. But we will see. At a minimum this has to be the last chance for this group.

It's probably one of the few time I agree with Scorpion.

Just not much to get excited for when it comes to the Flames.

Last year just drained the GAF tank for this team and the faint hopes of optimism were met rather middling with their offseason move.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a massive fan of the Coleman, Zadorov and Vladar acquisitions, and the Coronoto pick. But this team needed an enima and we got prep H.

I’ll take Tort’s prediction over any of the others. Primary reason being....he knows the game better.

Secondly, he remembers 2004, when Darryl had a lesser roster and Tort’s team barely beat them in the SC finals.

Tortorella has Spencer Knight winning the Vezina, Panarin the Hart and Art Ross and the Canes the SC. If you’re going to ride the Torts train, you should make some bets because you would get some fantastic odds.

Torts was a fine coach but I can’t imagine he has a track record for handicapping.

Great rebuttal.

Let’s go with Scorp.

Yes, that's me — with the additional caveat that I was at least partially trying to use reverse psychology to manifest at least some form of the opposite into being.

Certainly not. I just don't think they'll be able to score very many goals, and I definitely don't think they'll be very good on defense. I could see them allowing 250+ goals.

It's my honest take. I can't really see them being any good at all, especially if we don't see Tanev keep up his otherworldly play and Andersson bounce back.

I will bet you, whatever amount you choose, that they will not allow 250 goals.
