I've noticed Simon more in this 1st period than his entire time in Calgary.

Malkin, Crosby and Guentzel are all out, not sure if they even have a top line tonight. He's getting a lot of ice time so far, though.

Heinen with the first goal, bad give away by Vasilevskiy, just 12 seconds into the second period. Then, as mentioned, Boyle scored and it is 2-0 Penguins. No penalties so far.

The shots on goal is not displayed on the screen graphics, 24-12 in favour of the Penguins.

It has been six years since the Flames played their season opener on home ice. Is this odd, or is this something that happens for a lot of teams?

This interview with Ovechkin and Crosby is pretty great.

the best one

Tampa pulls the goalie with 5 mins left when they don't have control of the puck...odd move, goes about how you would expect

4-1

Tampa looked at the Pens roster, laughed, threw their sticks on the ice and lost
