With most of canada being vaccinated, wouldn't there be more cases of myocarditis?

Calbow was sensored, and should be punished imo, these idiots should be sensored and punished too.

Our World in Data shows that there have been over 6.4 Billion doses given. 2.72 people who are fully vaccinated.

The entire world would be screaming about myocarditis there was any truth to it being a serious risk.

It's common sense. Yes, it can happen, but it is rare with vaccine and you're more at risk if you get coved before vaccination.

It is generally good but the bad side of it is there will be AHS facilities that are going to be severely short staffed, patient care will suffer and those staff that cared enough to be vaccinated will become burnt out. I personally know of a seniors' facility that has over 40% of staff unvaccinated including 10 registered nurses. Frightening.

Lethbridge and Medicine Hat hospitals are doomed.

I wouldn't want my family member in an assisted living facility with 40% unvaccinated. These people don't belong in a healthcare setting and I'm glad they'll be gone.

Pretty easily really, just because someone is educated doesn't mean they are smart.

My doctor is anti vaccine as well and only took it after he was going to lose his job.

My best friend is a surgeon, is brilliant - possibly the smartest person I know - is extremely scientifically rigorous, is passionate about life and humanity, is exceptionally thoughtful and caring, and is, in short, one of the most beautiful people I know. He is also, somehow, an anti-vaxxer.

Humans are a complicated, messed-up, and wildly interesting species.

Find a new doctor

If 99 Mechanics tell you it's the transmission and one tells you it's the radiator who are you going to go with?

He's a great doctor. As long as those 100 mechanics know how to change the transmission I will be fine.

None of these examples are scientists. Expecting one medial professional to understand all of the intricacies of the field of medicine is insanity. Each aspect takes a tremendous amount of study and effort to master.

It’s like asking your electrical engineer how to build a bridge.

This is why doctor's carry malpractice insurance I guess. Some of them make mistakes.

This story is like the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to Anyone who still thinks the vaccine is bad.

While your point may be true, you'd think someone who studied in medicine, works in the medical field at a high level (surgery), who is intelligent (as stated by the OP), and who no doubt has to keep up on their education/studies/etc as part of their job, would have faith in the science behind vaccines.

I'm in IT and understand a lot of the concepts and foundations IT systems are built on, but have zero will or desire to learn about coding/progamming. But I'm not anti-anti-virus software because I don't understand components of how's it built and delivered.

Not necessarily. There are still plenty of highly respected, successful MDs who buy into and propogate bizarre nonsense like young earth creationism.

Yeah I hate to break it to the world, but a lot of MDs I know have a private practice, work in the hospital only when they need to perform procedures, do enough continuing education to maintain their license or stay current in their narrow sphere of medical science, and almost never get involved with research.

In short, most doctors aren't actual scientists. Many choose to be educated on science in fields outside their main practice, but they will still never be experts. Those that have a preconception on certain topics can be willfully ignorant to the science and still be highly successful at what they do.

It sucks, but that's the way some people are.

I had a family doctor before who I saw looking up my symptoms up on WebMD and making a possible diagnosis based on that. I was like, I could just do that at home dude. The only thing I don't have a is a prescription pad. He literally asked me what medication I wanted, which I totally took advantage of. I can't be trusted with that kind of power!

There are some bad doctors out there who were good at learning how to pass but aren't great thinkers on their own. It's like any profession really.

This is true. And there are some doctors who think they are smarter than scientists who studied the actual vaccine technology for years. And some doctors have political beliefs which sway their thinking.
