Yeah…if you’re a fan of Chelsea, City, etc I’m not sure it matters who the owner is.

All that matters is you have a great squad and get to win a trophy.

Sucks for the league but if you’re a fan of Newcastle I’m sure any bad taste will be removed when you win a title.

Yeah....'Unlimited Resources' is a Bitch amirite?

Its not Barca where they just kept on borrowing against their brand feeling that it either would never be a problem or if it became a problem they'd either get bailed out or it would be someone else's.

Insolvency in Football is not rare or unique. It happens a ton. So having the backing of all of Saudi Arabia would probably be pretty nice for some hard-done-by Geordies.

I dont know that they're going to be the next Man City or PSG, that might be a lot to hope for, but they'll still likely be better off than they are now.

For the fans at least.

The thing is, this is probably bad for football overall. Not only are they going to have to overpay for players because that’s what the first step is for these clubs. But it’s Newcastle. It’s one thing when it’s Chelsea or City, because at least you’re in a city that people would choose, but Newcastle is going to be paying crazy amounts for players who aren’t that great in the grand scheme.

is it just me or are they all suuuuuper dramatic? I mean, Mike Ashley was obviously an extremely bad owner, but they were still a pretty stable PL club. They finished between 10 and 12 for four straight years, yet they make it out as if they went to hell and back. But hey, I guess you need to justify it somehow when you sell your soul to the devil.

Oh there are going to be issues and problems alright.

For Newcastle its going to be a lot harder to pad the books for training arenas, stadium naming rights and jersey sponsorships to cook up the required fees to bring in top named talent.

Exactly if you’re a fan of one of the already rich clubs then this sucks, but if you’re a Newcastle fan then this is amazing.

Going to have new owners investing money into the squad to try to get their club into the champions league.

What was more fun for Manchester City fans?

Cheering on Joey Barton and Georgios Samaras on the team that finished 14th in 2006.

Or the shock transfer of Robinho in 2008, signing guys like Tevez, Adebayor, Toure, Silva, Balotello, Dzeko, etc and then finishing 3rd and winning the FA cup only three years after the change of ownership in 2011.

Maybe not as honorable as cheering for the plucky underdog that has some good moments, but it’s probably still more fun to cheer for a team with a chance to win.

Newcastle is a cracking city - seriously, there are few better for a great night out.

I always cheer for Balotello! Better than that other schmuck.

Yeah the fans of Premier clubs tend to be a bit over the top in their complaints. Even on here, listening to some of the United fan complaints, or Arsenal fan complaints make me roll my eyes a bit as a fan of a lower league team who has almost went insolvent on more than one occasion in the last 10 years. I would kill for some of your guy's issues. But it is also the nature of the sports fan, and even more so in the Premier League where you have gone from a team with no chance to win, to probably a favorite within the next 2 to 3 years.

I dono how she was picked to be the face of this, shes really bad in interviews

Also it was never about who was in control of the PIF, cause that hasnt changed, it's still MBS. It was an issue with streams and BeIn. Shockingly once the BeIn stuff changed the deal went through

Bit of a strange post.
What complaints in particular from Utd and Arsenal fans are eye rollers for you?

Seeing idiots draping themselves in the Saudi flag is pretty ####ing miserable.

So here's something a bit more joyful. Probably the best hat trick you'll ever see.

Quote:
Avenue FC's Callum Ormrod scored a superb long-range trio in 15 minutes, with the 21-year-old winning the man of the match trophy despite receiving news of his grandfather's death just before kick-off. Avenue FC beat Rochdalians 7-0 and seem well set to defend their Rochdale and Bury Sunday Football League title from last season

She reminds me of that photo of that woman that got terrible plastic surgery to look like a lion.

It sucks, I get it, but hey....Ontario and Quebec import Oil from Saudi via Tanker because they hate Alberta so much.

So I'll give the Geordies a break. Enjoy your blood money. Its probably Canadian.

Looks like Eden Hazard may be on his way back to Chelsea... As Italy and Spain collapse, it looks like EPL + PSG and Bayern will be all that is left.

that'd actually be a win for Real. What a flop he's been there.

and in general, I wouldn't write off Real just yet. There's a bit of a rebuilding phase, but it's nothing like the Barca mess and I expect them to rebound soon. Camavinga has been a steal for them, Mbappe is surely coming next summer and they've made quite a bit of money by selling players, so who knows who else they might add. I wouldn't even be surprised if they signed Haaland in addition to Mbappe.
