I don’t know why they don’t build him some wrist/forearm guards. This happens almost every year.

Or get some different gloves with better protection.

Maybe they tried and he loses some mobility with his hands.

Yeah, I imagine it's definitely this. I mean, I get it from Johnny's perspective, but at some point, he's got to see the benefit of maybe getting used to the guards vs. getting permanent damage at some point to his mitts.

When he came back with the heavy duty gloves he seemed to play just fine.

I never understood why he just doesn't grab some lacrosse gear. Go down the hall to the Roughnecks dressing room and ask the equipment manager for some slash guards. The never impeded me playing lax.

The real issue is the league always chooses a new thing to "crack down on." It's a good theory, but whenever they do it, they also seem to "un-crack down on" the previous things they'd "cracked down on."

This year, it's cross checking - which means Johnny's hands are open season again.

All I'm saying is if Batman can build gloves that let him block baseball bats with his wrists while still giving him the mobility of a ninja... then, I mean... come on, Flames.

First game back with them he scored and got an assist against Anaheim, and then he went and got 9 points in the next 6 games. I don't know when he witched back but he was certainly producing with those gloves.

Too bad Batman signed an exclusive equipment deal with Gotham City Knights.....I heard BT was in on the negotiations down to the last hour but couldn't make it work. Trust the process.

If Wayner can score 10,000,000 points using gloves up to his elbows, perhaps they should explore going back to that.

Spoiler!

I am not sure how to post just a picture but look at the gloves Syd wears in the photo in the article. They are longer and made of leather. I have read an article a few years back asking about the leather gloves and it was stated that it spreads the impact out better, but the issue is wetness and players need to use 3 or 4 pairs during a game.
