Some of them have. Not necessarily pro athletes, but r/HermanCainAward has plenty of people forfeiting their award. It's quite encouraging. Just need a few more of them, and a few less awardees.

I'm sorry you misunderstand me so much. I'm not wishing actual gruesome death upon anyone. All I'm saying is that if someone's going to die, I would much prefer that it was an idiot like Archibald, or the grandparents in the thing I quoted, over some person that just happened to have cancer in the year 2021, after the vaccine was widely available. Do I need to draw this with crayons for you?

This is the thing, there are some who do but thats not really the most important issue.
I think back to the beginning of the Pandemic and remember just how batcrap nuts that was.
We didnt know anything. Where it came from, what it was, how it spread, what it did and/or to whom. It took a long time to nail a good chunk of those specifics down.
Unfortunately, I'm reminded of the saying "You can't reason people out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into."
Over the past several years people have been encouraged to "don't just believe me, do your own research!!"
Unfortunately most people couldnt research their way out of a wet paper bag, they're just hunting for whatever they can find that validates their already currently held position.
So when people like Archibald post misinformation...thats what sticks. The recantation does not. Once its out there its out there. That damage is done. That Genie is out of the bottle.
So when things like the General Medical Opinion doesnt align with their own people will continue to search until they find one that does.
Even if for nothing more than: "Its not a consensus! See? I'm not alone! There are dozens of us! Dozens!"
And once that belief is firmly held it is difficult to change. A lot of this leads right back to the beginning of the Pandemic where misinformation was abundant and relentless and it seems that the difficulty in that willingness to change has remained stubborn.

Cool, but that's totally not the point. Things aren't so binary as you make them seem.

Yeah I'll probably need you to draw that out, it was obviously me being mistaken in my interpretation of "Go ahead and choke on every breath for a long ass time, and f* you for perpetuating this pandemic. Please OD on ivermectin, and relieve the human race of the possibility of you procreating." I obviously took that the wrong way.

But that's totally the part I took objection to, I agreed he's an idiot, I just don't wish him dead

You caught me not giving AF about people that bring it on themselves. Actively not caring that they choke and die on their own folly. Actually hoping that they hurry up and clear out the ICU for people that deserve care. Busted.
Not even joking. Get the hell out of the ICU, and give those beds back to people that need and deserve them.

Then just stick to that argument. All your other posts certainly make it seem like you feel he shouldn't be taken to task for what he posts on twitter as he is only a fairly minor celebrity.
I tend to agree with you in that all of this is tragic. Him having myocarditis, the elderly couple plus the millions of people that have died from this, unvaxxed or not.
The issue however is that there is a certain segment of the population that is perpetuating misinformation and is directly contributing to all of this tragedy. Anyone who posts unfounded and dangerous misinformation anywhere is part of the issue. Those who have more of a following (however small) should definitely be held to a higher standard and in fact, generally are. Just look at his tweets, as minor as he is, he had multiple hundreds of likes/retweets. If we agree that this is all tragic, that misinformation has just potentially been multiplied hundreds of times over. If I was to post misinformation, I would still be wrong, but I doubt I'd get a single retweet (also since I don't use twitter).
People with influence can do a lot of good, but also a lot of harm, and in this case, there are too many people with said influence doing harm with misinformation.
You're exhausted from being piled on in this thread not because of your claim that you are simply arguing any death is tragic and we shouldn't be wishing it on others, but because your other points insinuate that he did nothing wrong outside of harming himself, but unfortunately, he absolutely has caused harm much greater than to himself.

He’s a pretty big heart and soul guy.
I was an archibald fan last year, but seriously I’m over it. My 2 sisters are nurses and the stories I hear are horrifying. I have a friend (relative through marriage) who is a giant mouth piece against it and is now in ICU on a ventilator. I can never wish permanent harm on anyone but I hope he learns a lesson

I don’t know what’s worse, that you posted this in the first place or that you went back and edited it and it reads just as dumb as the first version.

Okay. Now I am intrigued. Do you do your "hospital work" out in the middle of nowhere and at the end of bumpy roads? Do the bumps on the road cause your brain to misfire and produce poorly written nonsense?
I have so many questions.

I mean anyone who doesn't take the shot because of a fear of blood clots (10/million odds) should then never:
Take a long-haul flight (1/1000, but increasing odds the longer the flights)
Take oral contraceptives (1/2000)
Have general surgery (1/5)

My wife works in a hospital. Is on the brink of being re-deployed to ICU and CCU. The only thing that has prevented it from happening already is because she is part time and they're taking the full-timers first. Her co-workers who are already working ICU and CCU have not heard of this "clot-shot" that you speak of. It just isn't true.
Please stop with lies and misinformation.
