I dont take joy in people getting sick but I think the world would be a better place if more anti-vaxxers got covid. Those idiots are ruining the world, they're usually less intelligent than average and think they know more because they're louder.
I wish they could turn away unvaccinated(except for medical reasons) covid patients to take better care of people who need it more. I wish they would start arresting idiots protesting the vaccine. I wish it was legal to carry an air horn around and whenever an anti-vaxxer started to talk, you could just blow the air horn in their face. I wish I didn't feel this way. I wish there wasn't such a divide in society over common sense.

Maybe the poster wishing him dead mislead me as far as joy, whatever the emotion he is feeling, I have a hard time wishing him dead.

IMO, it’s as reckless as drunk driving. I have no problem wishing that drunk drivers hit light poles instead of my daughter or mother. Archibald and all the other antivax idiots can go ahead and die of Covid, and hopefully not kill any of my friends or family in the process.

One of those is a crime, the other is not.
The hate and vitriol spewed towards a group that sees things different than another certainly makes you realize that society hasn't really changed much in the last century. Very easy for society to pick a group to persecute.
See, I can make bad analogies too.

Maybe refusing to get vaccinated should be a crime. There was a time that drinking and driving wasn't a crime either, but the majority of society agreed that the social cost was high enough to criminalize it. There are still people out there that "see things differently" and think they should be allowed drink and drive.
The social cost of not getting vaccinated against communicable diseases is high, and for some diseases, it's high enough to warrant legal consideration.

*Dons pedant hat:
While I think it's a bad analogy, I would suspect that someone like Archibald hasn't exactly been following the proper covid restrictions as this has been going on. Is gathering with unvaccinated people in your own home as bad as drunk driving? Obviously not, but for now, it is illegal.

It's really no longer a "sees things differently" type of situation, unless I suppose if you meant they are blind to the rest of the world and live in a bubble of entitlement and self-satisfaction.
Also, if anti-vaxxers are comparing themselves to Jews being perscuted during the holocaust, I would argue that a statement such as "being willfully unvaccinated is no different than reckless/drunk driving" or "being willfully unvaccinated is akin to manslaughter" actually doesn't seem so farfetched does it?

But that day isn't here yet and it would also make us the first country to make it a crime. Pretty sure that day will not come, so many legal ramifications.

You realize that quote more reasonable fits the actions of Archibald, right? Destroying our healthcare system, behaving badly by spreading misinformation on social media, and considering himself righteous while doing it?

People aren’t getting the health care they need because hospitals are full of anti vax idiots. Cancer patients getting worse, elective surgeries that have huge quality of life ramifications are canceled, and all this because some of these effing morons want to exercise their right to incubate and perpetuate a virus that kills. Bravo. Seriously, go die in the corner, and give that hospital bed back to someone that deserves it.
Archibald, and like minded people, can GTFO.

My wife is an ER nurse. I have no problem wishing ill on militant anti-vaxxers. If you have a medical reason for not getting vaccinated as my sister does I get that. But if you’re showing up at hospitals and spitting on people who are trying to save lives or supporting that kind of crowd you can rot in hell.

Anti-vax people trying to reframe their ignorance and willful disregard for public health as some type of protected status is a joke.
In fact, any comparison of vaccine passports to the Holocaust should be considered a hate crime, punishable by required listening to first hand accounts of the Holocaust read by the person with the most annoying voice in the world (thinking Gilbert Gottfried). Kind of like a reverse Reading Rainbow for dummies.

which in the case Archibald hasn't been doing.
All we know is that he didn't get vaccinated, and had two dumb quotes from last year to show where his thinking was.
Just saying that if you look at Rogers rage posts towards Archibald in this thread, I don't think they're warranted. They're more appropriate for someone like Trump or the Governor of Florida, or any of the media personalities who have intentionally misled and lied to their viewing public.
Archibald is just an idiot who now has heart problems and lost his NHL career. I don't need to wish any more harm to befall him.
Besides, if he did have more bad things happen to him like Roger wants, he'd consume even more hospital resources.

Lol. Didn’t know I had to list everyone I think is an idiot when I complain about one specific idiot in a thread about said idiot.
Have a look at Chemgear’s post ^ and tell me that an NHL player doesn’t have any influence on young (or stupid) minds. He’s spreading misinformation, and fricken Covid. Bother are deadly, and I would prefer him to die rather than your sick parent that needs a bed in the hospital because of an illness they incurred through the crappy luck of the draw, instead of willful ignorance.
I’m fighting for your loved ones as much as my own.

I think calling it a vaccination "passport" is part of the problem. It brings up negative yet irrelevant imagery. They should just call it a vaccination record. We already use them in many situations, like for going to schools, certain industries and occupations require them, some foreign countries require them before entry.
Providing proof of vaccination to have access to certain privileges isn't a new concept. The word "passport" just makes it sound more aggressive than it needs to be.

If "you" are the type of person to get caught up on the terminology used (passport) I would suggest it probably doesn't matter what people call it.
