I don’t know anything.
Though I do know that Rowan Atkinson wrecked his McLaren F1 twice, spent over 2 million pounds fixing it, and ultimately sold it for 12.2 million in 2015.
Because it was a McLaren F1.

If they went for it with Eichel, I’d be prepared to have a little faith that it would work out.
And if not, at least they tried.

Bennett's work in Calgary is fair game when comparing year to year improvement I suppose
To cherry pick his Florida stats doesn't really seem relevant though when it comes to the Flames and their improving or not. I wasn't trying to hate on Bennett, he didn't move the needle much for the Flames in regular seasons.
My only argument is people keep saying how much worse the Flames are but does anyone actually think they will do worse on the ice?
Not sure if you were serious but there is no reason to be sorry, just trying to get through 8 friggin preseason games!

I think it’s clear by now that nobody is willing to pay the Sabres’ asking price - rumoured to be the equivalent of four 1sts. The questions around his health combined with the salary crunch means he’s devalued and has only a handful of suiters.
Regardless of who he ends up going to, I think we’ll be surprised at how little it took. Probably something like a 2nd line forward or 2nd pairing D, a 1st rounder, and an A quality (but not elite) prospect.

Marek and Friedman discuss the Eichel situation. Nothing substantial but Friedman suggests Calgary was in the trade talks, tried hard, suggests Eichel is willing to go to Calgary and he's never heard he wouldn't. And then repeats that line for Anaheim and New York.
Also reiterates that Buffalo has still not allowed any team to look at Eichel's medical records.

Today Freidman saying that the Senators want to sign Tkachuk to a 7/8 year deal but Brady wants a bridge like his brother. It will be interesting to see how the Senators deal with this as if he signs the bridge he's good as gone.

This is no surprise.
I will be shocked beyond belief if they get Brady to sign for any more term than what's required to get him into the same spot his brother is in right now with the Flames.
Both of these guys will play the system so that they are UFA's by 25, and then IMO they will probably both end up in St. Louis, or at the very least a US market with a history of cup contention. My bet is STL though.

The Tkachuk’s are working their way to a desired destination so I really hope Matthew has a career year that justifies the high QO and creates a solid trade package for him. Good thing is he will definitely be motivated to have his best season.

Yeah I have a feeling the family plan is for the boys to play together for the Blues but little doubt they will be playing in US markets as soon as they can.

So for everyone who rips treliving for Matt’s contract maybe consider that Matt never wanted to sign long term and just used cap space keeping the team together comments in interviews as a way to keep the heat off him that he doesn’t want to stay in Calgary long term? Maybe Brad did the best he could considering who he was dealing with? Would everyone have thought it was better he held out for a significant part of the season when we were coming off a first place season?
Not all things are equal and we can’t always cherry pick good deals from other teams.

I think it’s very clear that Tkachuk had no intention of signing a long term deal at that. He wants the leverage of being a UFA as soon as possible. Why wouldn’t any player want that?

I agree but a lot of people use Tkachuks contract as an example of why he should be fired and cherry pick other similar players on different teams as example of what treliving should have done but it’s looking more like Treliving did the best he could have done considering the player he was trying to sign
I personally don’t hold it against him as one of his bad moves as it’s clear to me Tkachuk won’t be part of this team for more than the next couple years at best

If you can't sign him long term, trade him for max value instead of walking him to ufa

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
At the risk of digging up an old argument, how do you extract max value for a guy that wants to play for one team? Any team acquiring him knows he isn't staying and the Blues don't need to pay top dollar as they know he's a lock to go there.

That's we suggested for Gaudreau too, but they have now walked him right to the brink of UFA and a 5 team limited trade clause.

This.
Nobody will pay a premium for a premium player if they know they can't keep him.

And if the tkachuk’s get away with it then it will become a league wide problem. Treliving screwed up when he caved to Chuckys bridge plan.

why are we assuming Tkachuk only wants to play with the Blues? I'm sure that Matthew has a number in mind more than a team

Its going that way - all leagues are. Stars are the entertainment and will demand to go where they want, whether to make the most money or to win.
