Mmmmm. I kind of doubt this is how it's going to go.

The Oilers are always the guy that triggers the NOS too early in the FF movies.
Pre-season banners, post-season sweeps (or draft lottery party).

IDK the Oilers didn't look all that great with their entire roster going all out giving the top guys all the minutes. Won on a couple suspect calls against the Flames who were working everyone in and missing a top six forward and Gaudreau for the third.

Imagine how dejecting it would be to be an oilers prospect or depth guy trying to make the team in preseason.
You play one shift and then Tippet takes you aside: “Take a seat kid. The Chosen one has spoken. He and Leon want the rest of the power plays. And so it shall be, as He has spoken ”.

And at the same time chastises Dry Saddle publicly just to make sure everyone knows who’s boss.
We all know that’s false. He and his assistants are figureheads behind the bench.
What a joke that franchise is.
The bitching and complaining is just beginning.
Every other team in the league should make it their mission to destroy them physically game after game.
Make life for the “duo” a living hell.

Is he just trying to do too much. Last year he was promoted to the PP, is this effecting his game in the sense "I need to score more" overall too? Hopefully Hanifin and Kylington can take over the PP and Rasmus can focus back on his game.

Forgive me if I got this wrong but I think I could have got better resolution with bunny ears on a black & white TV last night. I saw Chucky cream Keith behind the net in the first and immediately thought of the Doughty drama from years ago. Not much later Keith smacked Johnny with multiple playoff slashes in a row (nothing called) and I chalked it up to frustration from Tkachuk’s earlier play. Hopefully with a video session tomorrow the team is made aware and collectively Keith is dealt with before he injures our most vulnerable star.

Yup. Same type of hit down behind the net that he made on Kassian, which Oilers fans were outraged about and Tkachuk should have been expelled from the league for. Because god forbid if a winger takes a skate down behind his own net. That’s not allowed. Oilers fan logic

Looked great.
They will win a lot of games when they are able to replicate those minutes for 50 plus minutes.

I like to think Sutter had them play hard just enough to ensure they can beat the Oilers when it matters, then told them to take it easy the rest of the way and not show too much.

The one comment that stood out to me was "no big deal, its preseason."
I know he doesn't like the schedule, but he couldn't have been happy with that play in the last half.

I believe less than half of anything Darryl says to the media. He doesn't like to show weakness. I'm sure he's not happy at all about the 2nd half of the game but he doesn't want to fuel the fire of critics.

Where else would he go? Not like he had a lot of options after his tenure with the Flames.

Pre season or not, make no mistake that was the Oilers sending a message via that comeback.
Man I hate them. Darryl has his work cut out for him to neutralize that offence.

McDavid is a such a whiny, entitled piece of crap. I'm so sick of that loser.
Maybe it's bad juju or whatever, but I'm really starting to miss Collar McBroken.
Just sayin.

Yeah it's so frustrating that McDavid has some meanies check him in the post-season and the darlings get punted in the first round, so the league implements a huge cross checking crack-down.
Meanwhile Johnny's had his wrists slashed for years, and on an ongoing basis, and mere lip-service by the league.

Oilers are probably due for some injuries to key players. For the amount of ice time Draisaitl and McDavid get they have been very fortunate to avoid much in the way of major injuries especially when you consider how reckless McDavid can be at times expecting teams to just part ways for him to come into their zone at full speed.

"I can't believe the other team tries to stop me when I skate like the wind towards their net and try to score. Don't they know who I am?"
Shut up you whiny twat.
Makes me miss the old style of post anchors.
