I would say that the Chargers are more of a lock than the Chiefs.
That defense is freakin legit, and they have more than enough on offense (still missing all-pro Bulaga who should be back in 6 weeks or so) to score their way to some victories as well.
Injuries are always the wild card though.

Mike Florio suggesting Urban may be on his way out....sooner rather than later.
Quote:
The Urban Meyer situation in Jacksonville is bad. It could get worse.
Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi posted an ominous tweet on Tuesday
“According to two Jacksonville sources, there are many closed-door meetings happening over the last two days in the football offices and none of them have anything to do with the Titans,” Lombardi said. “Stay tuned. This might get ugly.”
Before seeing Lombardi’s tweet (and some in league circles strongly believe one of his sources is Jaguars G.M. Trent Baalke), I said on PFT Live that it’s hard to imagine Meyer returning in 2022. At this point, he may not make it to the end of 2021.
At this point, he may not make it to the end of the week.

Nothing to see here. Just another day in the office of the Jacksonville Jaguars. There were many that predicted that Meyer would fail spectacularly in the NFL. The issue is that many NFL owners throw away the sound decision making that made them billionaires and run their teams like a fan.

There are some great games this weekend:
OU-Texas
Penn State-Iowa
BYU-Boise State

As a person who loves to pump caffeine into my body and stake small sums of money for the hope of making more...why would I care about that matchup over say Georgia-Auburn, or even formerly top 10 ranked Texas A&M vs Bama?
Even the Bearcats vs Temple is more interesting because someone has to lose that 3-4 game, and will that be enough to open the door for a team like the Bearcats to inch into the Playoff picture.

So weird looking at the standings and seeing my favorite team as the only one undefeated. Pretty happy with the results overall, but I think we’re due for a bad game either against the 49ers or the Browns.

Fair point. Gambling aside the BYU-Boise State is great football matchup and probably going to be a better/more entertaining game than Bama-A&M. Auburn-Georgia is intriguing but methinks Georgia will suffocate Auburn defensively so not sure how much fun that one will be to watch - but I will give it a go if it's on TV.
All those games are better than what the NFL will likely serve up this weekend.

On the plus side it seems like every time someone goes all hot take and decrees it’s a terrible weekend for games and they’re all gonna suck we get some wild upsets and great battles so this is probably a must watch weekend

He must be thrilled that he paid all that money to change his jersey number for a whopping four games.

Sounds like he's been really bad in Dallas the last two seasons, but I still feel like he'd be an upgrade over Wilson and Singleton.

Eagles don’t like LBs so I don’t think they’ll be interested

If any team could use a decent LB...its the Packers.
Alexander's injury was the latest to a key player. The Packers finished Sunday's game without seven preferred starters: outside linebacker Za'Darius Smith (back), inside linebacker Krys Barnes (concussion), Alexander and King on defense plus receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury) and offensive linemen David Bakhtiari (on PUP while recovering from ACL surgery) and Elgton Jenkins (ankle) on offense. Of those seven, four were either All Pro or Pro Bowl selections last season.

Does the salary cap only apply to some teams? They only have $2 million in space and would have to make several cuts that don't have dead cap implications. It will be interesting to see if he clears waivers.

He's a vested veteran so he goes straight to FA. It basically comes down to if he wants to be paid now or wait until next offseason. But the Patriots are already paying his full salary this year so he can certainly take the league minimum and go play on a stacked team to drive up his value for next offseason.

Pretty much every team in the league makes sense on some level, elite CBs are a rare thing on the open market. The injury concerns are what might limit his ability to get a huge contract now, although the Panthers seem like the most likely landing spot if he gets a huge deal as they have the cap space this year and going forward, plus a huge need right now.

No they aren't. The Patriots had this in the works for a while as they didn't have him on their opening day roster. They actually freed up $5.8 million in cap space by cutting him. If he talks league minimum that's all he makes for the rest of the season.
