He is also in the last year of his contract, so hopefully he gets the standard McDavid bump in stats and commands a little extra salary.

So the Oilers are just rolling with their expected roster from last game onwards?

It will be easier to convince the fanbase that their prospects will become the next Kurri's or Messier's if they never see them play first.

As much as it is good having strength through the line up, Sutter said that they may have made the playoffs if he went to that line earlier on and having a consistently producing top line is such a key. Mangiapane-Monahan-Coleman has potential as a line too, lots of goal scoring, 2 excellent two-way wingers and a great garbageman.
I sincerely hope they don’t put gaudreau back with monahan. Keep the top line together.

Odds of McDingus going full speed into the net and then complaining due to entitlement?

Of course want to see what Monahan can do in a game where he and his line will will have to be able to manage McJesus and Draisaitl from time to time. Don't care if they score or not just win that battle. I think Lindholms top line will be fine and we know Backlunds spent plenty of time checking McDavid with generally good if not perfect results.

Also really want to see how Kieth handles incoming rushes, it's supposed to be where he's fallen off according to the press.

Always care when we play those guys even in pre season in their rink. Let's see if Sutter Hockey is all it's cracked up to be!

One might ask why sportsnet is only showing Leaves vs Senators, but why bother…

“2 minute countdown has been activated”!?!? Everything about the Oilers is painfully lame.

Hoping both Monahan and Hanifin feel good throughout the game, and get their game legs going. It will be a good tune-up for them, but I don't expect too much from their first game. I just hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Hoping we can both beat up and frustrate the Oilers tonight. Let's go Flames!
