Probably all clear...if you are 140 pounds you need to really stick out offensively, not fan on every glorious chance you get.

He needs to really rip up the A. I didn't see a kid on the cusp of being an NHL'er last season or through this preseason. Love the kid, but he is further away than I thought he was.

Good on ya Scorp. Phillips has been fighting an uphill battle and he didn't show anything that got him noticed. His contract status is such that this is probably his last kick with the Flames. Probably headed to Europe next season where the big ice will play to his strengths and he may turn some heads. Fun little guy to watch, but the little was a bit much for him to overcome.

I think it's a little early for him to go to Europe. I see him signing another deal with the Flames if he leads the Heat in scoring again. Beyond that ... who knows. Still time on the clock.

I think if the Flames thought that they would have inked him to two years and not a one year show me contract. You may be right, but he'll really have to perform to earn another shot.
