I can see him and Sutter getting along great and leading the is team. I think we see a more mature Tkachuk this season.

I think I expected the Flames to be a bit more dominant with that lineup but it may have been the first game for a few players. A lot of the top guys had good minutes.
Nice goal by Tkachuk on the shootout.

Eberle looks good, could have a good year. Overall looks like the Kraken could be not that bad.

I do like the Climate Edge Arena initiative, that's a great idea and something greater for an expansion team as well as the rest of the league to possibly follow.

I don't think it will come to that though. He'll make the opening night roster.

With so many D available, I still can’t believe the Flames signed Gudbranson. Panic move when there shouldn’t have been panic wasting cap flexibility.

Agree or not its a guy Darryl wanted...not a panic move a guy he sought out

Stone, zadorov and grud are not very good, He should make the team over them but it’s the Flames, they always choose known garbage

This is why I’ve been wondering if they roll with 13 forwards and 8 dmen..

What other forward is knocking the door down?

Tkachuk-Lindholm-Coleman
Gaudreau-Monahan-Mangiapane
Dube-Backlund-Pitlick
Lucic-Richardson-Lewis
Richie

Hanifin-Tanev
Zadorov-Andersson
Valimaki-Kylington/Gudbranson/Stone

Markstrom
Vladar

They really need to just let OK get some traction.
Maybe we can have an OK Whynot pairing in the future.

I hope pre season doesn't mean anything, because if it does mean even the slightest amount of anything, then wow are we in for a ride

Who runs the team then? Apparently not the gm.

I have a hard time blaming the coach for a contract the GM handed out, but that’s just me.

Have to say, more excited for the season tonight than I was this morning. Let’s go already.

Sutter commenting on Kylington leading the team in ice time: "yeah we need mobility back there, it's obvious."

He also explained that Kylington and Rasmus led the team ice time because they played in OT.

I'm happy to hear him say they need mobile D.

I’m happy to see Kylington being given some opportunity here. I really have no idea what they were doing with that Mackey contract. It’s like two different people were building a group of defensemen and they didn’t talk to each other.

I'm afraid it will be a long season if this ends up being our team. I get it's only exhibition but the team looked old and tired to me, needs some spark.

Kylington looked good and Tkachuks ot goal, those were a couple highlights that stood out to me.

I wish Kylington has a skill to see a game 2 or 3 steps ahead. He is very good making the first step by doing nice play but after that he runs out of options to continue. But he was one of the best D tonight.

I mean this is the guy who brought Leopold, Giordano, Brodie, Bouwmeester into the organisation. He also rode Drew Doughty and Slava Voynov pretty hard in LA.

Thoughts on the game:
-Kylington and Valimaki both played well tonight. Really good to see.
-Tkachuk was creative and annoying and interesting again. Really, I thought he looked awesome out there.
-Gaudreau also looked good. His hands looked midseason form and I can't wait to see how his season goes.
-Coleman is fast and showed off some nice hands.
-Lucic was really engaged and played like a powerhouse
-Tanev is so damn reliably good every shift
-Vladar cost them this one, but I loved that big save to keep them within one though and after the first he looked mostly good. Played the puck a lot too.
-Zadorov has not been impressive. Still waiting for him to play well. He misses passes by 5 feet... frustrating to watch.
-Stone makes big mistakes and I am hoping we get a starting 6 with Valimaki and Kylington in it.
-I have liked Duehr every game going back to the rookie games
-Backlund was so much better tonight. Give the other vets another game too before making predictions, they know they are the team... just warming up
-Gawdin might make this team

Fun game tonight, I enjoyed it.
