98 Pitches. That is all on Mayza hitting the first batter. No excuse!

Typical pathetic bullpen of the Jays

Hit the first guy
Throw a wild pitch
Let the 9th hitter who is hitting .180 get a hit off a 0-2 pitch

Did anyone not see it coming

Unreal. You just cant defend luck. And the Yanks have absolutely every drop of it.

Everything about that inning was a lucky break. And now the game is tied. Incredible.

Some magical 100 pitch count where if you go over the pitcher's arm falls off or something. All I know is you can't go over 100. For some reason.

Nah. Gallo leaned into it.

He was a sitting duck and he knew it. So may as well lean into it. Umpires don't call that rule so he took advantage of it.

Awful pitch selection from Mayza there. Don’t throw a slider up 0-2 to the 9th hitter.

Mayza has been good but that was not.

Hardly any Blue Jays pitcher goes past 6 innings. It's a rule.

Hitting a player and throwing a wild pitch wasnt luck
Throwing a meatball 0-2 wasnt luck

We have had a lucky run this game too.

It's poor execution from a constantly predictably pathetic bullpen.

We have 6 more defensive outs to win this game because after that we literally dont have a pitcher who can get anyone out

Top of the order. If the Jays are gonna win this game. Something needs to happen now.

Not sure you can blame the manager on this one. Berrios had a solid start but got to 98 pitches and was faltering. Then Mayza hits a guy and gives up a hit to a guy who hits sub .200. Just Jays not performing when they should.

It's a shame this game is tied after the Jays got to Cole.

I understand taking Berrios out. I thought the Yankees were onto his stuff. Just unfortunate Mayza wasn’t as sharp as he has been.

Yeah. Berríos is about as stretched out as any pitcher in the game at this point and there is no reason he couldn’t have gone one more inning. He may not get another start this year.

Battle of the pens and the Yankees>>>>>>>Jays.

Season is coming down to 2 innings. With a significant advantage to the opponent.

Baseball is fun?

Tie game, two innings to go. I have a bad feeling about this. Prove me wrong Jays, please.

So far the pattern in this is the Jays hitters go cold in a tight game and eventually the bullpen blows it. Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself.

Gallo leaned into it. Urshela hit a BS tapper up the line that stayed fair. The WP hit Reese in the arm and bounced just far enough away. Mayza wasn't great. And this isn't an excuse for him because the pen sucks. But it was an ugly inning where if one thing went the Jays way they wouldn't score a run.

Excuses are like rear ends...

If's and But's...

If only we didn't screw up 3 different things that inning we would have been fine. (HBP, WP, 0-2 Meatball to a .180 hitter)

Yeah, it's crazy that you can move into the path of the ball, even if you didn't go around for the strike, and you get the base.
