That was the most crucial win of the season. Though, most will be from here out.
1 more against Tampa. Please win it.

A win tomorrow would be enormous. Obviously the Yankees series is the decider but it would make such a difference to the race.

To respond to a few pages ago you don’t sit Springer so you can get Kirk or Jansen some more at bats. Springer is a World Series MVP and still drives the emotion of this lineup. He had a solid game tonight and will be fine down the stretch. And Kirk is 3 for his last 32 so not someone you keep Springer out of the lineup for. I certainly wouldn’t pull Springer to get Dickerson or Grichuk more at bats either.

Dickerson or Kirk I'd take a chance on instead of Springer. Only reason I sit Springer is to rest the knee. Though the Jays obviously know more about it than us. So it may just be a matter of him having surgery in the off-season as it is what it is for now, and rest won't do much -- in that event I agree with keeping him in. This week would be good to have him sit out just because he's clearly favouring the knee, and it's concerning.

Springer was running well tonight, do you really think the knee is a problem?
Also Kirk just isn't that good. He had multiple balls hung out over the plate and couldnt get any of them. I like Springer's chances at those balls better than Kirk's.

Yeah I don’t get the rationale for sitting a rookie in place of one of the top 5-10 best players of the last five years. Sure he’s not at his best but that’s still better than a rookie. Montoyo was even saying the other day that Springer is close to getting back on the field. I do think the lateral tension of swinging bothers him more than straight ahead running because of the brace but it sounds like he’s improving and he is running better.

Great to see Manoah grind through when his stuff wasn’t quite there. Shows the potential for a true front of the rotation guy.

Can anyone explain why Kirk was hitting 6 and Gurriel 7 instead of reversed

Kirk is a good hitter, in a slump though.
And I agree, you don’t sit Springer for Kirk. Just no

How many starting pitchers who are still in the game are the first guy to congratulate a team mate when he hits a Homerun or look like the happiest guy on the team on a day when he was the starter who got roughed up but they come back to win. I can't think of any outside of Alek Manoah. He battled hard tonight without his best stuff, and an inconsistent umpire against a team who play like a desperate cornered rat nearly every night. He might have that intangible quality that separates the true elite from every one else.

walk 10 guys and still win it 4-2
IN THE TROP!
Wow. Great win! Huge win!
Also, this series might be the worst umping I have ever seen.

West as usual in the bottom 5.
We can keep an eye for the scorecard to come out from last nights game - https://umpscorecards.com/umpire.html?name=Joe%20West
And another point - Buck needs to start knowing some stats. His announcing is getting unbearable. He makes statement of opinion as if they are fact.
Last night he said "Joe West is one of the best ball and strike callers in MLB, his issue is he sometimes interjects himself in the games"
This is 100% not true. Statistically he is one of the worst.
Buck seems to take no time to be prepared with statistics to back up his opinions/know the real data. He is fake news!
The issue is that the casual fan would hear his opinions as 'facts' and think they are accurate, when in reality he just makes up stuff

The scorecard should be up shortly and I'm excited. Considering how many blown calls there were in the 1st/2nd and then the 8th, its gonna be a bloodbath.
How Joe West is still employed is beyond me. Forget Robo umps, just fire that one guy. His method of not bending over the zone until the ball is in flight is horrific and leads to the bulk of his issues.
If you're too old to hunch for the duration of the setup, maybe you should retire from a job that requires it.
