Hopefully we can complete the comeback, but as of now the ump officially killed it with one brutal call.

Well, this is interesting. Dickerson is a wildcard. A base hit ties it.

F the ump. Should be fired before he even hits the showers.

Absolutely shameful performance by the ump there in the ninth. He was directly responsible for 2 of 3 outs. Yikes.

What an absolutely Terrible and inconsistent strike zone from the ump.

Yep should be at least 6-5 right now. Probably even 6-6, but Valera what are you doing looking at strike 3

I mean how do you not after all that? When things go to **** with the strike zone it completely screws up a batter. Calling balls as strikes allows the pitcher a major upper hand as the batter now believes he'll throw outside due to the expanded strike zone.

Also shows me the team needs a solid bench hitter for the playoffs. I don't know if there's a rookie killing it, but a guy who can get on is super important in that situation. I can't blame Valera there because he's been pretty good of late.

Frustrating part for me was Ray's pitches that were called balls were way closer to the strike zone then the Rays pitchers ones. Those pitches that were called balls got the pitch count way up for Ray as well and resulted in him getting pulled early. Ump cost us this win. Also we now get Joe West behind the plate tomorrow.

The league should be embarrassed. The only full at bad I saw in the 9th was Hernandez's and there was absolutely no excuse to not call that second strike a ball. Absolutely ridiculous.

Ump was brutal, but man - WHY IS SPRINGER STILL IN THE LINEUP

Forget about the fact he can't field, but the man is a liability in the roster in the DH spot. We're leading every rotation of the order off with an easy out.

We've got plenty of guys that are being more effective on the bench, and 0.111 in the last 7 is a joke. Give him some time to rest and get fired up (for being benched). How many at bats are we going to watch this guy buckle over on before he flares it up badly? Is it going to take a sub 0.100 average to sit him? But how many losses will that have cost the Jays by then?

Springer is ice cold, but he's not going to heat up riding the pine.

If he's healthy enough to play, then he should play.

Conventional wisdom might say so, but playing the way he has isn't heating him up or keeping him warm. Proof is in the pudding.

He's better off sitting and resting.

He hit a game winning clutch home run about a week ago.

All players go through cold stretches. A vet like that has to play through it.

Springer has always been a feast or famine type of player. His famine right now is more noticeable because he hasn't been able to provide any other intangibles from the DH spot. I'm just hoping he can shake it and get on a heater pretty quick because we saw what that means when he carried this team for 2 weeks in early August.
