Yup, a yard is nothing to Baltimore. And Mahomes on the other side.
KC played for the FG, which is correct, but not their game.

Andy Reid took it out of his best player's hands, they were moving it easily with the pass, just worrying too much about the clock when it really wasn't that big a deal, they had a huge advantage even if they got an incomplete pass on 2nd and 3.

This KC/Ravens game was one for the ages...

Great game; don't even like either team, but fun to watch both throw haymaker after haymaker...

Maholmes just got picked so Reid was probably spooked.

I think Reid was a lot more spooked by his defence, than Mahomes getting picked. CEH can't give the ball away on that. But it's not like this revamped O-Line did any favors on that play. Even the Mahomes pick was a pretty bad whiff by the block on Humphry, if he get's a piece of his guy, that's an easy toss to Kelce, or Mahomes can cut that back to the center right for a first down on the ground.

Give Lamar his due, he showed some mettle to get his team back in the game.

The only team in this league that's going to win more than 14 games this year is Tampa, I wouldn't be surprised if no one else wins more than 12.

He also advanced the ball 43 yards in the three plays to put them into range. Andy was worried an incompletion would shift the clock advantage to the Ravens, so he was probably fine running the ball twice into the line and kicking a 50 yarder so that the Ravens would have had ~30 seconds and no timeouts. And 20 years ago that might have made sense. Now we just see it too often where a team can easily get into FG range in 3 plays. Let your best player kill the game.

Correction - You'd have Tyron Mathieu, Bobby Wagner, and a pile of trash.

This makes no sense.

They were in easy FG range (47 yards), and could take the clock to zero and win the game. The Ravens could not stop the clock with 30 seconds left.

They had already killed the game.

All they had to do was NOT fumble a run directly into the line and try and pick up a few yards play

So many more things can go wrong on a pass.

Maybe you can argue they should have knelt the ball and kicked the FG, but they were far enough out that a few extra yards looked nice.

Imagine throwing twice and missing, or getting a sack. Reid would have been called the biggest idiot in football.

The Chiefs had the game won. Their RB just did the inexcusable and fumbled.

The Ravens had a timeout left so the Chiefs couldn't just kill the game. Two runs and a kick and the Ravens get it back with 30 seconds or so left. If the Chiefs pick up one more first down then they could have ran it down to zero. Also, when did 47 yards become "easy FG range" (and it would have been a 50 yarder, not 47)? That certainly wasn't a gimme, not outside and not with the game on the line. They should be trying to get as far as they can while trying to bleed the clock, not just kicking any FG so long as there's no time left.

And yeah things can go wrong in any play, but if your choice is the ball in Edwards-Helaire's hands or Patrick Mahomes hands, that seems a rather easy choice to me. Outside of that one horrible decision Mahomes was cooking.

It’s early but man do I think teams will have a hard time beating Tampa.

Tom Brady with an elite defense, and a group of great receivers is a combination that really can’t be beat.

They also have a good offensive line too. If they stay healthy they are so much better than any other team in the league it's not even close.

Anything can happen but I honestly don't see any of the teams in the schedule beating them with the exception of Buffalo potentially. I would have given Washington a chance because they are supposed to have one of the best defenses but after the first two weeks they look pretty awful.

Are we already forgetting they almost / could have lost to Dallas on opening night ?

They didn’t even thrash Atlanta at home that badly . Two terrible Matt Ryan picks 6s. Matt Ryan is barely NFL quality at this point in his career

Their D doesn’t look anything special so far .

Peyton Manning is going to spend three hours precisely diagramming why the Lions D sucks.

Someone should use it to make a “fixing the Lions” YouTube video.
