Somebody took the time and gave you the advanced stats that showed you were wrong. Admit you were wrong or just move on but stop acting like the world is out to get you.

Most of your posts in here have been troll posts. I took the bait and started questioning your vague and seemingly baseless claims. Thats why we are here.
You asked me for Backlunds advanced stats in the Colorado series, Supermatt came to the rescue and did my homework for me.
What do you think about the factual stats and breakdown he graciously supplied?

Nice discussion, its like talking to a wall the more you add the wall never changes… So let me ask something is there any info that could be added to change your mind otherwise we all know what that means I always wondered why there are so few salient discussions here but…
Now back to things that might actually make my life worth getting up and not just an escape from boredom.

Maybe you could live by your own mantra and ignore those your disagree with?

I do with some posters. I totally don't mind reading differing opinions, I think it is a good thing. The problem with CP is if you have an unpopular opinion or one that differs from the masses you will be subjected to ridicule, bullying, personal attacks, etc... We have lost many quality posters unfortunately for that very reason. Now someone will reply to this with a snarky answer.

Such a martyr.
The only "bullying" you have endured here are the repeated requests for some sort of evidence to support your rather bold claims about Backlund. And any "ridicule" you receive has been pretty mild, and in response to the fact that all the available data rather completely obliterates your opinion about Backlund.

And there it is, from a mod no less. Classic. We have literally had a thread on this before where posters voiced concerns over this and this is your response as a moderator?

It is an apt description. You are participating in a discussion in which people disagree with you. You are making yourself look ridiculous by repeatedly doubling down and playing the victim.

No, I am pointing out there are rules on CP in general, but those rules don't always apply depending on the poster. I have a poster on ignore who has blatantly broken the rules personally attacking me over and over. Those attacks were reported yet nothing came of it. If I had written even one of those posts I would have been out of here so quick it wouldn't be funny, but because I can be a contradictory poster with a differing opinion than some nothing was done. I don't care if you tout the old "you don't know nothing was done" speech, the poster could not possibly receive that many warnings without action. There is a clear bias on this board, posters have pointed it out before yet it remains. I could go back and quote every post from the beginning of last year where people were crying for Backlund's head and saying he should be scratched because he was so bad but to what point? Fancy stats are the tell all right? Anyhow way off topic, I think I will just lurk on here from now on.

If we’re done with the drama queen I do think Backlund is a reasonable choice for the next captain. Loves the team, seems to be a leader, isn’t a total maniac on the ice who’s gonna spend a lot of time in the box. The C isn’t an MVP award, the idea that it has to be your best player is a bit silly.
The biggest downside to it would be if he’s part of the allegedly rotten core but no one could know that for sure. Tanev would be weird he’s a bit too new to the team you’d think. Wildcard could be Hanifin, that would really show the faith in him becoming that true #1 we hope he will be.

I'm kinda torn on this. I'd be delighted to see Backs get the C, however there is that old core stain on him in some ways...I mean, he's deserving for the most part.
As for Tanev, my initial thought was he's too new to the team to wear the C, yet you could also argue that's maybe a good thing - let a new guy take the reigns and change the voice and mojo of this squad.

I wonder how Tkachuk would feel if the organization gave him the C at the end of camp and discussed a commitment to win with Tkachuk leading the team for the foreseeable future? Does that increase the chances he signs an extension here?
I am sure Ottawa is dangling the C in front of Brady along with the 8x8 deal.
I am not a fan of giving the C to Tanev, Backlund or Lucic. I would rather run 4 A’s or give the C to the guy who was always supposed to succeed Gio in Tkachuk

I have no real evidence of this but my sense is that Tkachuk is not a big off ice leader in respect of fitness, like Gio and Iginla, both of whom were always talked about as being beasts in the gym.

How can you give the C to a player who makes selfish between the leg passes in the defensive zone?
Sorry but until Tkachuk cleans up his game with the cute selfish plays he should never wear the C.
Your captain should be a player other players follow. Don't want young guys making selfish passes in defensive zone.

He likely wasn't gifted with great jeans in regards to physique so I would hope he puts in extra work to avoid repeating the mistakes of his father Keith Tkachunk.

oh, man....
Yeah, Keith was never in shape. Imagine if he'd put in the work. Matt isn't fat. But I don't know that he works at fitness either. I've never heard it mentioned. And I think he'd benefit from it, plus skating work, like Point did.
