Not really a Fata, as these are the type of threads that pop up from time to time and that's OK. People are getting real quick on the draw calling Fatas.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Kx4L3ej-XxY here is some Joy Divsion ... Post -punk from 1979 .... you can almost see the bridge between punk and 80's brit rock .... if you listen to the 2nd song.... you can hear the modern day brit-rock in it... before its time i think...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=cwbn2SxKnl8 Listen to Interpol and how eerily similar to Joy Divsion they are.... Interpol is a band from New York that is worth checking out..
This video features the original cast from The Karate Kid, including the guy who played Johnny and Ralph Macchio. You will need to watch it a few times to catch all of the references to the movie. And be warned, you will be singing this song to yourself for days!

This is in the guitarist thread too but this kid deserves to be seen.
Despite everything I've ever seen, take a look at this no-name Brazillian kid and tell me that he isn't as good or even better than all of the big-name guitarists today:
He's faster than Malmsteen and Angelo, he's got creativity I haven't seen since young Eddie Van Halen, he's got as much composition as Vai and Satriani, and he can play cleanly without distortion sort of like Eric Johnson. This guy could honestly face up to those guys and do better I think. It's simply amazing. He's inhuman and combines rock licks with heavy metal sliding and other stuff like flamenco and classical and jazz and blues and funk (see the middle of the 3rd video) just...I can't believe what he does with the neck as cleanly (He has effects, but they compliment the sound and it isn't muffling distortion. You can hear ever note) and as accurately and as fast as he does. That's insane for anyone who plays guitar knows. I've watched guitar videos and players for years and I've never had my mouth open like this. There are shredders that go as fast as him but they just shred meaninglessly, this guy has melody and keeps switching it up with something new and different styles at ridiculous speed.
First one starts out a little choppy, but that's the webcam, not some kind of trick.
