Where do folks rank the starters right now? Am I nuts to think it's
1. Ray
2. Manoah
3. Berrios
4. Ryu
5. Matz
Manoah reminds me of this team's Juan Guzman.

I think it's
1. Ray
2. Berrios
3. Manoah
4. Ryu
5. Matz.
But I admit I still think I am underestimating how good Manoah is.

I think Ryu needs to improve his fitness. He’s a big guy who seems to be breaking down as the season goes on.

It’s a total luxury. Depending on how things play out down the stretch, nice to know if things don’t line up perfectly to use your number one starter in a wild card game, 2 or 3 guys are near equally capable.

I also forget that Manoah is still very much a rookie. That was still only his 17th start.

I'd say right now that's the case but 2 and 3 are interchangeable. Ray has really be a huge breakout star. The rest have been very unpredictable over the course of the season, but as of late all have been excellent. Going into next year I think they should invest in a star pitcher if Ray walks. Ryu really has to better his fitness.

Matz has been better than Ryu for a while now. Hard to believe but Ryu is the weakest link a very strong rotation. Knew it would be that way eventually, but not this early on in his contract.

What a game by Manoah. Ace type stuff going.
He's doing what I hoped Pearson would do this year. Maybe Pearson can do it next year.

I completely agree with the Juan Guzman comparison. Big, strong pitcher with wicked stuff.
Edit: Just looked up Guzman's height and weight and he is much smaller than I remembered. Oh well, I still like the comparison.

Voted for Kodos

When Manoah has his stuff like he had today, he’s as good as a pitcher can possibly be in baseball.
Those sliders are insanity. Combined with the two seater that cuts to the right… I don’t know how anyone gets their bat on the ball at all.

There is way too much good korean food in Toronto for this to happen.

I think Springer and the Jays want to make sure George keeps his hitting timing going even if he can't play the field.
It took him a while to get back into rhythm after his injury and they are in crunch time now. They don't want him having to go through all that again in the middle of the playoffs (if they make it).

I would rank them:
1) Ray
2) Manoah
3) Ryu / Mats / Berrios
Ray is a stud.
Manoah is fast becoming a #1
The other 3 are good, sometimes great, sometimes struggle. To me that's a #3

Yes, for sure.
But it was 8-0 and he has already had 3 at bats. Not to mention a tough run out to first base.
He should have been out of the game at that point.

It's so nice that the Jays record is starting to catch up their run differential.
Took 140+ games, but the cream is finally rising to the top. Hopefully it stays there. Very frustrating to look at the standings all year and see the Jays behind teams like Seattle, Oakland, Boston and New York.

Not weird at all. And you should hate Tampa too for what they've done to the Jays over the last 15 years. There's an argument to be made that a lot of their success during that time is due to the dominance of the Jays.
Unless I read your post wrong. In which you are referencing that you actually like Tampa and hate everyone else. Then yes, it is weird...

I don't like Tampa, I just don't hate them with the fire of a thousand suns like the Yankees, Red Sox and Orioles.
