There's a ton of Rempel signs and a few PPC, but that's it. I'd have no way of even knowing the name of the NDP candidate without a specific Google search, if they can't even be bothered to do a minimal amount of campaigning then why do they deserve my vote?
So I'm back to my original conclusion that there just aren't any good options this year. I'm sitting this one out

You won't vote for NDP because they don't spend money in the riding; they don't spend money in the riding because no one votes for them.
A real chicken and the egg scenario brewing here.

So convervative voters unhappy with the CPC are totally fine with "voting their conscience" and splitting the vote via the PPC, but leftist/progressive voters are shifting back to Liberals?
What a crazy ass world we live in right now.

It is. It truly is.
If I believe that there is no more fiscal conservatism then what is my incentive to vote conservative? I dont really have conservative moral values, and neither does that party particularly.
I'm more than happy to live and let live.
If my fiscal values no longer matter that opens a lot of doors.
But I cannot vote for these Liberals.
Now read that sentence clearly. I cannot vote for these people. They are corrupt elites that care about nobody but themselves.
I cannot support that.

Well it's because the O'Toole platform is basically the same as the Liberals. For people who are concerned about platforms and policies, that's an issue. I think that the spending promises in his platform is virtually the same as the Liberals once you remove the daycare costs.
There are a lot of conservatives who aren't super pleased with that platform. If you've spent the last 6 years talking about how bad the Liberals are with spending and then bring out a platform that is in that same league, it's not going to be met with a lot of enthusiasm.

No, and that's why the Liberals aren't seeing those votes. But the PPC hasn't blatantly robbed people either, and they're also against the dairy cartel.
I know a number of would-be CPC voters here who are instead voting for the PPC because they aren't pleased with the direction of the CPC, hate the Liberals and must not have a Rhino party candidate that they could vote for!

The PPC is wonderful.
Its like drawing out all the crazies into one place and then locking the doors from the outside.

O'toole did say that he will balance the budget at least as well as operate a more unified Canada vs the regional division we have now under Trudeau.

The problem with the NDP is that they're still largely a fringe party that can get a few MPs elected. Under Jack Layton they were the official opposition but that was a lot on Layton's popularity.
Yeah Singh is a good guy and everything but it's also easy for him to promise people everything without providing details or costs, I did see a headline about how he wants to spend $200B into different social programs mostly.
Take his free dental care for example, I haven't seen details on it but what exactly will it cover. Instead, if he could have said we'll cover basics like cleanings, xrays, cavities, root canals etc, that's one thing but dental care is one of those things you can spend as much money as you want or have especially when you get into braces and implants and things like that.
I just think they have to be more specific if they want to go head to head with the other 2 major parties.

I voted Liberal today. The candidate in my riding is the only one that came to my door and cheaper daycare sounds great.

Balance the budget?
Who cares? That ship has sailed.

seriously? nothing that the Liberals did in the last 6 years caused pause?
This is a good example of why the Liberals are going to win, even if it's another minority.
Most people don't care about ethics and corruption unless it directly affects them.

I think we are very likely to see another Liberal minority with them losing seats in BC, Atlantic Canada, and maybe a few in the GTA.
In talking to friends/family in the Toronto suburbs - I don't think there is enough desire for change out there to shift seats away from the Liberals en masse.

I fully anticipate another Liberal minority.
If there was any justice the fact that Trudeau went to the Governor General and told her he couldnt govern under these conditions and she allowed an election should mean that without a majority someone else should get the first chance to form a Government.
But thats not going to happen. Its going to be the Liberals with the NDP as their lapdogs. Again.
We are going to wind up back exactly where we started.
The cost of this election should come out of Justin and Jagmeet's paycheques and pensions until its paid off.

As much as I try I can't come up with anyone to vote for, I'm not a party voter so for me this is simply the worst bunch of candidates in my 40 years of voting.

I have relatives living in the BC interior who are locked into that theoretical room.
They can stay there.
