It would be a sneaky brilliant move of a CP member to start a bogus sports media page to post all of the most popular complaints/predictions they read here…

Talk about a hit collector.

That just sounds like they re-worded the earlier tweet from Irfaan Gaffar.

And Gaffar's tweet was just a reading between the lines thought on why the Flames might have been suddenly active with filling out the rest of its roster.

Amazing how "rumours" get their legs.

The Flames will finish first in the Pacific.

The Pacific is middling to bad and Sutter is the best coach in the division, so it's not a huge reach.

I think they're 2nd-3rd after Vegas and maybe Edmonton/LA, but I'd love to see them have success with Sutter's system and find themselves at the top of the heap.

They actually might if Markstrom is back to form

Not saying they get Eichel but the recent signings are irrelevant to a potential deal. Really they have an extra million on the cap because of EG.

They didn't scrap an Eichel deal because they signed some depth players. They first gave up on the Eichel deal, then used the cap flexibility they were potentially saving for Eichel and plugged it with depth signings.

As soon as they made those signings, you knew the Eichel stuff was over. Especially the Gudbranson signing.

Those contracts were signed weeks ago. Has zero impact if taking a run at Eichel

Somebody is going to take those roster spots so all the around league min signings are irrelevant because they are basically a wash.

Stone in Mackey in the AHL for example (actually saves the Flames cap) EG has an extra 1M or so that is not make or break for Eichel come on now.

If anything the Flames needed more players to bring Eichel in because its likely 2+ are going out if it happens...you need to ice a team

I have to admit, as the season gets closer my hopes are growing as they usually do.

I'm hoping Sutter and his defensively improved roster on paper can prove the doubters (me included) wrong.

Most years the team only takes a month or two tops to beat the hope and optimism out of me, hopefully this isn't another year like all the others.

The more positive CP is in the Summer the worse the season seems to go and vice versa

I agree that it doesn’t impact the cap or the possibility of something happening. However, it does seem that they were keeping these deals quiet for a while. So, I think the likelihood of something happening seems less to me. We can only think keeping these deals quiet was part of a negotiation that has not resulted in anything. Time has run out it seems as they needed to start planning their roster and training camp. I would be surprised if much else happened now.

Lol. I am cautiously optimistic right now. I think Vegas takes a step back this year and I don’t believe the usual Edmonton hype. It seems wide open if the Flames play to potential. I’ll start thinking negative immediately.

Sure it does...

Flames fandom is a portrait of misery right now, and he is negative space within it

I expect Calgary to likely make the playoffs in an exceptionally weak Pacific division.
