More proof that Lindholm is a beast. What a great contract.

It's a list of forwards only. Turnovers often involve a forward losing the puck to an opposing defenceman. One would expect most defencemen to have ratios greater than 1.
I can't say I think much of these figures overall. The players who carry the puck most often have the most opportunity to turn it over, whereas every player has a chance of forcing a turnover when he hasn't got the puck. A ratio of these two numbers is about as informative as dividing apples by pears.

If the Flames were relying on Lucic to be the number one guy to pass the puck out of their zone last season, that explains why they missed the playoffs.

The Flames won just as many games in the Playoffs as the Oilers did.

I remember seeing a lot of Lucic zone exits last season.

I probably did miss the point of the stat. It seems meaningless to me.
What's the point of tracking it?
It doesn't tell us whether a player is good at passing out of the zone or not. It just says that they did it a lot, relative to their ice time.
I mean, we know that zone exits are a weakness in Lucic's game yet this stat would have someone who hasn't watched him play believing that he is one of the best in the league at exiting the zone with possession.

You mean like someone who didn't read the stat chart where it has Lucic under Zone Exits via Pass, yet is complaining about it saying Looch is one of the best in the league at exiting with possession?

Is Lucic making the passes or passing it himself? I have a feeling this is mostly for cherry pickers or players too slow to make it back to their zone in time.

How much would Lindholm get on the open market right now? I think it may start with at least a 7.

If he was a UFA today, he would have gotten an offer starting with a 9. It’s not often you could get a UFA that young. Some team would bite. He’s the player on the Flames who is most valuable.
I wouldn’t trade him straight up for Eichel, given his injury history.

This is just more proof that the team needs to target a trade for Teddy Blugers

It says he's one of the most frequent at exiting the zone with possession via pass.
I've seen stats guys kind of assume that the leaders in this categories are also the best at exiting the zone with possession.
That obviously isn't the case with Lucic. No way is he one of the best in the league at zone exits. Even when he used to be good, this was one of his weaknesses.

Actually, I see the opposite. Lucic is quite good at getting the puck out with a smart short pass from the wall. He has the odd flub, which gets a lot of attention, but he's quite an effective short passer in general.
