Which Heritage/Winter Classic did they wear those in?

I believe they were for their 100 year anniversary and not an outdoor game.

These are perfect for a one off Winter Classic look in the Twin Cities. I will also defend the 2011 Calgary Heritage Classic set to my death. The rest of you will eventually come to realize just how wrong you all are!

Vintage designs harken back to the day when it was probably left to the team trainer to design a jersey, based on whatever the local tailor had available. Hence the preponderance of letter and stripe-based designs.

I think I like them haha… I think it’s the chest stripe that if they ditched it wouldn’t be that bad and then the brown gloves / pants… those are a bit yikesish but whatever.

I like the look of those gloves for some reason. Reminds me of a second hand pair I had to use when I first started playing at 8 years old. They were that exact color.

The collar looks just amazingly bad in those photos. Mpls sounds like maple leafs in my head. Other than that they are okay.

They'd be infinitely better without the stripe above the chest logo.

They had to fit so many elements in, the Captain's "C" had to be squeezed down.

Don't think they're bad at all and the color scheme works. Ronald McDonald jerseys are on another stratosphere in ugliness.

Is MPLS a functional abbreviation for the city at one point in their history? Or is this made up? If it is the latter, then that's dumb.

It's been a functional abbreviation for the city for longer than any of us have been alive.

I guess it's just not well known outside of Minneapolis, which makes it a little less impactful on a jersey.

Putting the city name on a home jersey is stupid anyways. City name is for away jerseys.

Yes, but apparently in the old-timey early-to-mid twentieth century it was not stupid. For this reason it works on a heritage jersey.

I appreciate, on an intellectual basis, the reason for these jersey styles in Heritage games. I will also never buy one because they just don't look good. |
