Vladdy's "shot" was a true Yankee stadium special. Only ball park that would've been out at. He deserves a cheapy. So many near misses to the big part of the stadium.

I think he’s the first Jay. Clemens has done 3 games in a row quite a few times.

Jays couldn't take advantage of a bunch of early errors. Now Taillon has settled in and got his pitch count way down.
Ryu is looking like a beast so far.

Be great if the bottom of the order would stop swinging themselves out on the first 1-2 pitches of an at bat

Wait. Why was Ryu pulled? He was at 80 pitches and absolutely dealing. First game of a 4 games series. Save the pen you moron.

At first look I thought Springer inured himself on the swing. Didn't realize at first it was from a foul ball off the knee. Hopefully he will be fine

That's what you love to see. Add on runs in the 9th to go for the jugular.

Ryu tends to fair better when he has an extra day of rest. I suspect that since they have a busy schedule without many off days (just one day off in the next 3 weeks) they wanted to keep his pitch count down today. They need him at his best down the stretch.
If you can't ask your bullpen to get you an extra 3 outs, you don't deserve to win anyway.

And what exactly are they supposed to be "saving" their bullpen for. Isn't this the exact scenario where you need your bullpen. Close game, division rival, wild card race in September? Seems like the ideal spot for your bullpen aces.

I gotta say Tabler has lost his mind saying give the green like to Jake Lamb on a 3-0 count. That is literally the worst possible suggestion I can think of. Jake Lamb is not a good hitter, you have the meat of the order behind him, the pitcher is clearly struggling with his command. Man. Sometimes it just baffles me the stuff that comes out of his mouth.

Thats a good start to the series for the Jays. No doubt they need to win 5 of these 7 games at least head to head, so now it's 4-2 and they can pick up 3 games. Nice to see the Yankees falling back to Earth a bit, hopefully the New York media can get these guys to go full Met on themselves.
