If that's the case the value is likely going to be lower.

If it does play out that way, he is gonna be one miserable player this year with the situation being a massive distraction to his team. Adams is so stubborn though, I think this scenario is definitely possible.

I don’t think there’s any chance Eichel plays for the Sabres ever again, especially with Bryson getting involved now. I think he’s dealt before training camp sometime.

If they move Eichel they will have to replace his salary i would think so no they will need to add $

Not hard. Find a team near or over the cap, trade for an expensive contract, get assets taht way.

Who at this point in the summer has a 6M dollar cap dump that they are willing to pay to get rid of? It's far more likely that significant salary is added in an Eichel trade (or they retain).

Does Buffalo need to reach the cap floor? I thought it was only necessary to hit the cap floor to be eligible to receive revenue sharing. Perhaps the $ saved might be greater than the revenue share they could receive while also allowing greater flexibility moving forward?

They'll reach the cap floor when they sign Dahlin

This wasn't really what I was trying to question. Is there a requirement to reach the cap floor or is it only so that they would be eligible for revenue sharing?

Could be more than one guy.
The Isles have Komarov and Boychuk.
The Oilers have Koskinen

Dahlin will probably cost <6. They are ~4.5 below.
-4.5+6-10(Eichel) = -8.5 so no, they will still be below if they trade Eichel.

Jokiharju adds another Schmll or 2 and they will be bringing back salary IF a trade is made before the start of the season.

The Eichel stuff has overshadowed what really should be the biggest story with the team right now. It's been crickets since after the draft. Once he wasn't traded you maybe expected they may announce an extension but it's September and nothing. Maybe they are still working on it or maybe the team is just going to play things out and look at moving him at the trade deadline if they can't get a deal done. I really hope this isn't anther case of asset mismanagement.

There'd be a separate thread if there was any major news about Gaudreau, like a signing or trade, or even a very substantial rumour.

Yep, Gaudreau is going to likely go as I expected. He could sign in Calgary still for sure, but more likely he wants to sign out east and we didn't trade him, so he will wait until FA now and we will get nothing.
