This is Pinder and Boomers fault...they have misused the term for years when really they meant hot prediction...

Oilers are in a playoff spot at the TDL. Trade their unprotected first round pick for some defensive depth. The first game after the TDL, McDavid goes down with injury trying to skate wide around somebody. He’s out for the rest of the season. The oilers only win 4 games for the rest of the season, miss the playoffs and the first round pick that they traded away becomes the lottery pick that gets Wright at first overall. McDavid asks for a trade on July 2nd, 2022.

Sam Bennett puts up 22 points, 10 of which are in the first 15 games before he is moved lower in the lineup for incurring too many penalties and generally being a detriment on the ice.

Draisaitl wins the Selke trophy and then goes off about how playing defensive hockey is a waste of his talent during his acceptance speech

Monahan puts up another lackluster season at both ends of the ice with a -20 rating and a dismal 14G and 25A despite seeing 1st unit PP time and cushy OZ starts.

This renders him completely unmovable and ultimately costs Brad Treliving his job as the Flames miss the playoffs for the 4th time in 8 seasons.

Monahan bounces back with a solid 30 goal, 65 point season to shut up all the Negative Nancies on CP.

Bennett goes gangbusters out the gate scoring 10 goals in 15 games, but then scores 5 goals the rest of the season.

Johnny declares his love for Calgary, and signs an extension $7M x 8 years.

Literally can not happen. It is back to Divsion playoffs.

1st in the Pacific would play a wildcard team, so yes it can happen. Unless they changed the format I'm not aware of.

If Bennett loses his top 6 centre position, this could actually happen. Reinhart could bump Bennett out. Did Buffalo not have Reinhart back as a top 6 center before the trade?

Stan Bowman and those around him will successfully cover up a Harrasment scandal and will go unpunished.... Oh wait that already happened.
