Meanwhile, the men's match on Armstrong has been delayed due to sideways rain (the remnants of Hurricane Ida).

Great to see Sloane crushing the ball and getting confidence back. She's got a beautiful, powerful game. She was absolutely lost in 2019 and then the COVID year. But has re-assessed and has been playing much better in the last 6 months or so.

She seems like a genuinely nice person as well, well respected on the WTA tour by her colleagues and she gives a good interview.

If Mannarino can win this third set, it could make things verrrrrry interesting.

Edit: We are going to a 4th set

You won't believe it, but Oikos loses the 3rd set and then heads straight to the bathroom.

Well, that 7+ minute break was exactly what the Greek needed. It cooled off Mannarino who was playing some fantastic tennis and enabled Oikos to reset things.

Andy Murray said he's never taken that long and reporters probably looked it up the last couple of days.

Plus tennis reporters remember everything.

Schwartzman into the 3rd round, he's probably my favorite player this year at the US Open (besides the Canadians). Hoping for a deep run here, he certainly deserves it.

Fans should shower the court with toilet seats.

I did not know that NF. Connors was certainly not one to shy away from controversy and sometimes gave his opinion without thinking of the consequences, but he was a heck of a tennis player.

He was a jerk but one of the few players you never saw take a day off as he was such a competitor. If he was playing today he would be a great villain on the tour.
