Barcelona paying 56 million for essentially a 2 year loan of griezmann, atleti taking suarez, and atleti winning la liga on the back of luis suarez
Bold strategy
Almost as bold as going from an MSN attacking trio to a front 3 of...
Braithwaite
De Jong
Depay

Real madrid tried to pay 200+ million for a player they will have for free in a year
And they are not the Spanish giant being run the most poorly, not even close!

came across this re Barca/Atletico. Pretty incredible stuff.
Quote:
2019 - Barca paid €120mil to Atleti for Griezmann
2019 - Atleti used that money to buy Felix
2020 - Barca sold Suarez to Atleti for just €7m and paid half of his wage for the season
2021 - Barca loaning Griezmann with an obligation to buy to Atleti for €50mil
So, wages aside, within 2 years, Atletico gonna end up with all Griezmann, Suarez and Felix for just around €60mil while Barca is in shambles. Props to Atletico for good business while Barca has been on self destructing mode for last 3-4 years.

Barca also apparently asked for Atleti to loan them Felix before the Griezmann loan too. On what planet would they think that wasn't an absolutely laughable request?

Over under on how many times the "All or Nothing" production uses the term:
"Nothing"
For the first few episodes of their Arsenal coverage?

I do wish that they always did these series for all the clubs. I could do without the “made for TV bits” that did in each episode, but the behind the scenes stuff is really interesting. I’d definitely watch a show like that in the off-season.

for me it always depends on the team involved, it's got to be interesting. I'm certainly not sitting through a feel good propaganda production of an oil club (see City and their series).
also, I feel every single one of these just falls flat in comparison to "Sunderland 'Til I Die", just because of the circumstances. Witnessing another relegation after actually aiming to document promotion was just amazing TV and it easily trumps every premise these new series might come up with.

I do like watching all of them. I realize some are more sanitized then others but behind the scenes is behind the scenes, and it's all interesting none the less.
Probably wouldn't have watched the Sunderland one, Man City one, Spurs, or Barca one (Barca was worst of the bunch) if not for Covid break. Will watch the Arsenal one too.

'Sunderland 'til I Die' was excellent, but I'm with you 100%.
Like I want to watch some BS Propaganda about Barca or City where they just basically stroke themselves for hours on end....

They usually either need a standout charachter, like Rodgers going full david Brent in the liverpool one, the 5 envelopes with players who will let us down but is still mind blowing
Or it needs full access, which something like drive to survive on netflix gets, plus most of the f1 drivers think they are god, which helps

Couldn't find a thread for the WC qualifiers. Anyone know where someone could watch the England match today?

Remember that time Serge Gnabry played for Arsenal?

so by the looks of it, 8 Brazilian PL players might be unavailable this weekend because the Brazilian FA have asked FIFA to invoke a rule that prevents those players from playing for five days after their clubs didn't allow them to travel to the national team. So as things stand, Liverpool would be without Alisson, Fabinho and Firmino; Man City without Ederson and Jesus; Man United without Fred; Chelsea without Thiago Silva and Leeds without Raphinha.
just incredibly petty stuff, but hardly surprising after their shenanigans in the Argentina game.

So United will be without 4 starters this weekend;
Fred, Mctominay, Rashford, and Sancho.
Does Pogba play beside Matic, and who starts between Martial and Lingard?
—————— CR7
— ??? — Bruno — Greenwood
——— Pogba — Matic

Sancho should be available, him withdrawing from the England squad was apparently more of a precaution and he returned to training yesterday. If he's good to go, it should be him starting on the left.
