Do you think Bader is unaware of what player comparables are presented in his own model? There are obviously additional considerations.

Waddell tried to trade for him prior to the offer sheet. This $6M number didn’t come out of nowhere… it’s the number that Waddell determined that Bergevin is either willing to pay to keep him, or Waddell is willing to pay to take him, or both.
