Maybe you're shorter than you think you are.

His official draft measurement was 5'10.5" and those numbers do not get fudged.

How impressive were his eyebrows in person and out in the wild?

…well no #%^*, of course it’s hard. It’s hard for all of the GMs in the league. This is professional sports. The name of the game is to be better than other teams/other coaches/other GMs. We as fans are just supposed to be okay with a perennially bad team because…it’s hard?

Pretty vanilla comments. I don't think Leslie is the guy to bash Treliving or the organization over their lack of moves. Not sure what people were expecting him to say there. If you're looking for someone to go loco on Treliving you should go to a different source.

Sad to hear yet again, especially after Brads end of season presser where he clamored the need to "change up the core" all of which hasn't been done.
Yea we lose Gio and sure that's a big piece but this team needed/needs more change to become competitive. Unfortunately Brad is doing what Brad does best in deflecting, trusting the process and commenting on how the market is "cold" or its "hard" etc.
Same ol Brad we've seen the last 3-4 years, did anyone actually expect anything different? I think some of us hoped perhaps this was the year for change, but clearly that's not the case here.
Another year of a "good on paper" team, mediocrity professionals.

What I wasn't expecting Leslie to say is that this is a good core, as this is not the prevailing thought. If this was a good core, there would be rival GMs lining up to acquire players from this supposed good core. I didn't like how he says he wasn't there to make excuses then proceeds to roll out a number of excuses as to why nothing has been done.

not making excuses for him but what did you want him to say? you said yourself that of course it's hard.
I didn't listen but at the end did he say "because it's so hard I have stopped trying and will wait until next year to try again?"

I just think the entire talking point of "it's hard" is just useless blabbering.
Ryan Leslie even said that the off-season isn't over and there's still time for Treliving to make changes, so I'm not being critical of Ryan in general - just the specific talking point/being apologetic over how hard the job is. Treliving's job is to execute at a better level than his peers, and he hasn't for a number of years now. It's okay for the media to be critical of am underperforming team and manager.

Ryan Leslie isn't really media though....he's an employee of the Flames organization isn't he?
He works for Sportsnet but he also does Flames TV and some other stuff directly for the team.

Ryan Leslie has never been one to have strong opinions. He's a solid host and interviewer but it tends to be from a positive angle. And that seems to be typical for the host role, probably because part of the job is to get people excited so they watch the games. My observation is that most of the folks in that role aren't that critical of the team. Point being - you aren't going to get hard hitting criticism from him.
