issue with the Flames is that they never seem to have everyone firing all at once.
Who are the 3 players who average 70+ points. I've got Guadreau. Lindholm , Monny and Tkachuk aren't close to 70 points.

Lindholm has done it once, based on PPG times 82. Monny twice and Tkachuk twice. But they are no were close to averaging close to 70, and none did it last year.

Those players get to 70 points having career type years getting premium PP time.

Flames were tied for 21st in the NHL last year, and 2nd last among Canadian teams. They have a huge gap to get to near the top of the league offence. And they are getting zero offence from their d-men too.

Consistent efforts in the details of the game can make up ground lost in the skill battle.

I think they're still an eichel and a good d-man away from having a shot to compete, even with strong execution.

Really wish we would just lock up one of those rather than play chicken until we lose out to someone else.

For a number of seasons now, this has been a team that seemingly doesn't handle adversity well. When things go wrong or sideways, they haven't shown an ability to right the ship, IMO. I have to believe that Sutter will increase the mental toughness of this group.

Man, I need to see either Gaudreau, signed to a long term, decent contract, or an Eichel, trade. What a long drawn out offseason.

I am really needing to temper my expectations, but there is still that glimmer of hope that Eichel is in a Flames sweater one day. Glad to know we're still in conversation with Buffalo.

Treliving is a jerk for waiting the longest possible time to do something meaningful (gaudreau extension/eichel bid).

It's like he wants us to suffer.

Pretty bad when the most passionate discussion on this forum is the vaccine mandate and Dustin Penner

Some if the players they have brought in should also help.

The flames also brought in a player who has played significant bottom 6 roles for Sutter during his 2 cups in LA in Trevor Lewis and we also brought in Zadarov and signed to a 1 year deal who will no doubt bring a heavier presence to the backend this year, one of the heaviest hitters in the league!

I really like the Vladar pickup as I think he can become a solid backup at the very least.

I also don’t believe they will go into camp with the team as is. I think a big trade is coming, whether it’s for Eichel or not.

If it's not Eichel, what other big trade would there be?

I don’t think those 2 guys will have big enough role to change the way the team plays but yeah they add toughness, physical from Zadorov, maybe mental from Lewis

We’re still going to have $3m in cap space left once Dube signs. I can’t see it being wasted. But you never know.
