Was my example of him posting a falsified voting ballot to deceive us not conniving enough for you? Is that what you expect from an elected official?

He is just one member, but if he gets voted in, then which candidates are going to be voted in to council also? Chances are that if Farkas gets most of the votes, then other wards are likely going to be voting in candidates that are similar to his philosophy in governing.

Given his antics I'd say he has to be one or the other.
Take his donation fishing poll on the cycle track snow removal as an example. He is either deliberately misrepresenting the situation in order to stir up people in order to get their info and build support because ' it's stupid roads aren't getting priority over a cycle track' , or he is a fool if he thinks that the cycle track snow removal has any quantifiable effect on how long it takes to get John and Jane Smith's cul-de-sac in Evergreen plowed.
Or his straight from the Manning Centre goings-on about in-camera sessions. It's an easy thing to rail on against. People don't like secrecy, and council keeps doing things in secret. More than Toronto! It's an easy populist stance because it's something that can't be acted upon but gets people angry. The MGA is what dictates what has to be done in-camera, so it isn't something council can change even if they want. And Toronto had more councilors and as a result talked about different things in various committees as a result, meaning a lot of their "secret" meetings weren't council meetings but were instead committee meetings so it seemed like they had less secret meetings. He either knows and misrepresents it anyway (likely, since he worked at the Manning Centre which was built on being conniving), or doesn't and is a fool because he should know by now.

Genuine, honest, no BS guy. I actually ran into him at a Subway recently. He basically said he's not going to sell out to interest groups, parties, or unions like the others... he's running as a full independent. Hopefully, I got that right. He works with small businesses doing marketing/IT I believe. Bright guy, educated, very easy to talk to, and a positive guy.
I would say send him an email and talk to him in person. He's a pretty open guy and I'm sure he would talk to you. Even if I didn't know him, I would vote for him compared to the other choices.

I'm in Ward 11 and have been looking at all the candidates. My hesitancy on Rob Ward is the first line of his website is "City Council Needs Change" - that always gives me pause as someone who isn't campaigning on something, rather just the lack of something else. Then he talks about better services for less taxes, another sign of someone without a true plan.
For me, I'm liking Kourtney or Geoffrey. Both seem to have actual plans other than "we need change, less taxes, more services, etc". Both have been on community associations for a long time, which I think is important to understand how things actually get done at a city and community level.

I think his platform is a little deeper than that. As I said, talk to him. Again, up to you though. He’s not as simple as Jamieson and Defraine.

I’m a little disappointed she didn’t answer the questions about disclosing donors and fixing homelessness. She’s still impressive and will likely get my vote.

I also raised a brow with her response that "labor relations" and "human resources" are dated systems that need to be disrupted/have improvements backed by Council.

Rob is actually the only candidate that I've spoken with in any capacity, and at some length He was quite good about engaging. I was interested if there was any familiarity with him amongst other posts, so your feedback is really helpful.
Regarding Branagan, she literally lives down the street from us and the only exposure we have is my wife met her when they were at a community get-together (long before she was running for council) and got a horrible first impression from her, so she's out. Her platform doesn't enamour me either.
Gondek / Ward for us, I think.

I don't think I want another Farkas for the ward.

Not my ward, but from his website, his "Platform" is Fiscal Responsibility, Safety, Trust, and Future, with no details on actual issues such as the Green Line, Sprawl, Downtown, etc and that we can't afford things (presumably, no arena, green line, etc).
His Facebook is the usual conservative messages of "thank an oil and gas worker because it's cold", city council is broken, property taxes have gone up too much with no actual ideas, and Danielle Smith says I'm great. No thanks.

^Yeah, it's worrying.
I plan on learning more about the candidates for the ward but out of all the options on the table, that's where I feel like my vote lies right now. It isn't over until the ballot is cast. Council is one where I need to put a bit more time into research, I've been caught up mostly in the mayoral race.

Well as soon as I saw "Common Sense Calgary" for the website it was a red flag.

Ward's site is www.robward11.ca, not sure why you linked CSC. CSC has literally every candidate on listed on there, and interviews with plenty of them, including Wiebe for Ward 8 who doesn't align with the Farkas / Danielle Smith types.

Well I actually hadn’t heard of him at all, and haven’t seen his signs or anything. So I just searched and that came up. I thought that ran it or something because he has a bunch of petitions on there.

Very excited that Brent Trentholm is a Common Sense Calgary follower. I see great hurdles to finally getting the Green Line up here in our future.
They've gone through great pains to scrub any direct association to people on their web presence though; always ironic when groups screaming for transparency literally have none.
