Some other signings of note...
The Broncos signed TE Daniel Graham. He's a Denver native so I was pretty sure they were going to get him. Supposedly they are interested in McMichael too, but I don't buy it. They look solid with Graham and Sheffler now.
Kansas City signed Napoleon Harris. Great pick up IMO. Adds some experience to the youthful exuberance that Derrick Johnson provides for their linebackers.
San Francisco gave a pile of money to Ashley Lelie....love his talent, but he's not tough enough. He got some really bad advice last offseason and its going to ruin his career.

I think this is a brutal signing and is reminiscent of the Bell signing. Harris has basically had one good year and the Vikes couldn't wait to get rid of him.

Bell signing?
Watching Harris with the Raiders for the first couple of seasons of his career, I always came away impressed. Didn't see him play once with the Vikings to be honest, but he was something pretty good a short time ago. The Chiefs need LB help badly.

Eric Johnson signs with the Saints. He's a perfect fit for the Saints offence. It's a 1 year 2Mil deal.
Love this deal for the Saints, getting 4 or 5 year vets for one year means they will be proving themselves all year, playing for a long term deal.

Maybe a healthy culpepper this year, will do something.
Every year there are some surprise teams in the NFL, I think the fish may be.
Dolphins got the #9 pick, maybe Brady Quinn will fall till #9.
Anyways you just never know in the NFL. A defence can win championships.
Don't forget we got Ricky back next year, and a good duo running back system carries teams a long way.
You just never know

Kendrell Bell. Lot of money for a guy who only had one good season.
Harris was with the Vikes for two years and was junk. He's also had some injury issues lately.

I'm guessing Harris is being brought in to replace Kawika Mitchell. Given the choice I think I liked Mitchell better, but the Chiefs aren't in a very good cap situation so if Harris was cheaper, I guess you go with him. Oh well Napolean is a good name. Maybe Harris will fare better in the Chiefs system after a couple bad years of injury. Any word on whats going to happen with Jared Allen?

that's not peanuts, the value of pics in the nfl is much higher than say hockey.
Also a players value to a team is not just how good they are, but their ability vs their contractual situation.

I think it's peanuts for a guy like McGahee....a 1,000 yard back. And fine he's in his last year of his contract and wants to get paid. But when you put up those kinda numbers in BUFFALO'S offense, you should get paid.
I think the trade market is all crazy this year....that's two head scratcher trades for me this offseason (Thomas Jones deal).

Got ya, and yeah....Kendrell Bell was a massive failure in KC.

It's supply and demand.
Lots of solid RB's available.

Where are there solid RBs available???? Ahman Green was the best FA running back this year. I just think a young and fairly solid RB should be had for more than that.
And now that Droughns is on the market, what does he fetch? a 5th?

Green
McGahee
Jones
Lewis
T. Bell
Henry
All of those guys were available (known to be) whether free agents or not. That's a lot of quality backs for one offseason

Addiction by subtraction. Getting rid of this malcontent will make Bufflao better because they no longer have his crappy attitude in the locker room and have him taking plays off because he cares more about himself than the team.
RB is one of the easier positions to fill in the NFL as well. Easy to pick up starters in later rounds of the draft whcih menas you don't need a top 5 pickto get a stud.
I am not sure that the Bills will have a better RB next season but they certainly will have a guy that is a better fit for the overall good of their team.
