Default Flames players analytics data

I saw a request for where you could find analytic charts for Flames players. I recall having seen them for Gaudreau and Tanev.

I thought maybe a thread to collect and discuss may be of interest

Here are some

Gaudreau - elite offensively, low QoT, average defensively

Tanev - extremely good defensively

One from Mangiapane from before he signed his contract last off season

Notes that it was a very good value deal for the Flames

It gives an absolute value for WAR rather than percentile

He updated it when Mangiapane was tearing it up for Team Canada

Totally. I think he’s one player on which everyone can agree!

His give a crap meter is off the charts. I look forward to seeing him coming off of the confidence building Team Canada tourney

Just copying this from my prospect posts as I like to give people for their work. The hockey community is truly a better place with their contributions. I obviously have an indefinite subscription but understand some people can't commit to the spend or don't have the interest, so am happy to take some requests within reason - may need a mod to chime on with what is permitted and what is not before I get myself in trouble.

JFresh and his partner TopDownHockey introduced their NHLe model this year. You will be familiar with the NHL player graphics they produce regularly. At $7/month the subscription is a no-brainer for any hockey fan. You can register here and support their work if you are interested: https://www.patreon.com/jfreshhockey

There was another article taking a look at where it went wrong for West and North teams who didn’t make the playoffs

https://eprinkside.com/2021/05/14/no...h-investigates

Quote:
What Happened? With the exception of Gaudreau, the stars weren’t stars. Mark Giordano struggled significantly this season, and his pairing with Rasmus Andersson went from one of the league’s best to a total anchor that was far worse than any other on the team. Sean Monahan continued to underperform his contract and seemingly eternally assured spot with Gaudreau, and didn’t even score goals - the one thing he’s supposed to be able to do. Matthew Tkachuk had a down year by his standards. Jacob Markström, who was acquired to finally be the answer in net after years of instability, was actually well below-average. Johnny Hockey was great, Elias Lindholm is still an automatic goal machine, and the depth was mostly fine, but this team ended up where it belonged.

Bright Spots? Holy moly Christopher Tanev. Talk about proving people wrong.

Markstrom bounces back to average (not even outstanding Vancouver levels) and the Flames are top 3 no matter what else happens IMO.

Flames D is better defensively too IMO...offensively not so much unless a couple guys step up

I agree with this. Jfresh does put forward some really interesting and easy to understand data

I assume you can get player cards and better data for any player if you subscribe.

I had just run across some reports here and there that were posted publicly and was thinking it’d be great to see them in one place

Hopefully that’s cool

What I like about these charts is that they seem to mostly match the eye test

My bad, thought you meant the forward group needed a few guys to step up, not sure how I read it that way.
