I really don't care where he's ranked. We've had great prospects that have forced their way to leave this team, we've had great prospects that have turned into busts.
Until he becomes an elite goaltender for the Flames I really don't give 2 ####s about him as a player. As a fan, it's time for the prospects to nut up or shut up. That goes for more than just wolf.

have we even developed a goalie since Vernon? I would love to see Wolf be the real deal. I had faith in Parsons but he has not turned out yet.

This seems like a fun approach.
Not sure I'm ready for it though.
I'm going to stick with that hope and cheering thing!

One of these promising goalies has to pan out sooner or later, so why not Wolf? The team seems to have changed its approach in development somewhat as well with the recent personnel adjustments.
This year will be quite telling in terms of his ability to take that crucial next step.

Does anyone have a sense of what Wolf's real height and weight are now? Wheeler saying 5' 11", but I don't know if that is true unless he grew (possible). Or do we just do the usual of taking the posted height and subtract 2 inches?
EDIT: i checked a bunch of sites....everything says 6' !!!!!!

It is interesting that out of the top 5 there is very very little pro experience
Askorov 10 games KHL
Wallstedt 25 games SweHL (seems to have as much AHL/NHL talent as Canadian senior hockey - Allan cup)
Spenser Knight 6 NHL games
Wolf 3 games AHL
Cossa 0 games
Theory:
Goalie prospects look great until they get to face pro hockey players

So the whole scouting institution is wrong? They don't know what they're doing?
That's four highly thought of goaltenders that were taken in the first round, and Wolf who probably should have but wasn't because of his height.
Doesn't mean there won't be blips for all of them as any development isn't a straight line, and goaltending a whole other level above that.

This is a point in time assessment, nothing more, nothing less.
So it's kind of exciting a late round pick has rocketed up rankings put together by people who follow such things. Should we bank on him being a great NHLer? No and that's not the point.
