See post #132 at NASIOC. Someone did screen grabs of the WRX teaser.
https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho...2938113&page=6
This is kind of the direction they are going with these Wilderness Outbacks and Foresters and it's migrated to their cars.

Not sure what Subaru is doing here. I imagine the STI will have color matched fender flares and hopefully some headwork done to the 2.4L engine as 6100 RPM redline doesn't scream sporty.

Did you look at the VW Atlas? Wife's sister has one and I sat in the 3rd row and wasn't completely uncomfortable. It helps that the second row seats slide forward. I don't know what trim level she had so I can't speak to what safety/self drive features are available.

Haha here I am bragging that I checked out all the brands, but no, I did not look at the Atlas.

Might be worth a look. Note; I'm 5'8 so my relative comfort in the third row is not going to appease your height requirements. But, how often are you going to be in the third row?

I still don’t like the Cayenne even though they’re better styled these days and have tons of HP. My friend recently got a Macan GTS and I have to say it’s pretty incredible. That’s a crossover I could definitely “settle” for.

Jeebus, prices are getting ridiculous for some of these cars.
Not an electric, but at that price point, I'd be looking at a used Ferrari FF/Lusso myself.

That's the thing - the Turbo S price is taking you into the realm of exotics. And yeah, rather have an exotic.

At that price point on a new Porsche, you get a warranty.
At that price point on a used FF/Lusso, si può andare all'inferno, you're paying modern Ferrari money for repairs.

I'd rather have a cheaper Porsche.
... Or a GT3 if that's an option; to hell with exotics if you can get a GT3.

Cars depreciate; servicing costs don't.

I'm assuming the person who's going from a $200K Porsche to a Ferrari would still have the income stream to offset a few off-warranty repairs. Plus, chances are that Ferrari will be worth quite a bit more in the long-term. I'm a Porsche guy, but Ferrari is a whole other level of awesome. If I'm in that position, I'm taking the chance!

I'm assuming based on previous posts that "all the brands" probably didn't include the Nissan Pathfinder either.
But I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on the Honda Pilot and Subaru Ascent if you shopped those.

More details about the new Z were released.
https://www.thedrive.com/news/42014/...d-and-a-manual
Still not in love with the front (even though the improved the grille a bit)... but dat ass. I'll take one in yellow.
Also reviews of the new 86 are coming in, and it looks like a solid (if not crazy) improvement over the last gen in almost every category.

Gotta say, with the Z, the 86, the Lotus Emira, the CTV-4/5 Blackwings...there's a bit of a resurgence of nice cars for the manual-loving enthusiast before the onslaught of electric robots take over.

I wish Nissan was brave enough to do the old round/scalloped headlights... or at least a more dramatic modern take on it. The headlights are the only thing that's letting it down, but overall really digging the clean and purposeful design (unlike say the over-designed Supra). Also approve of the colourful interior, not just another boring black.
