Looks like former Jay, and opening day starter, Drew Hutchinson made his first big league start in 3 years today for the Tigers. Good for him for trying to keep the dream alive.

Don't look know but Teo is only .001 behind Vladdy for the team lead in batting average. And only 7 behind for the team lead in RBI...

He's not as sexy as Vladdy with his crazy numbers of 100+ mph hit balls, but Teo is his equal in almost every way. The key difference for me is that Teo has become an incredible professional at the plate. Vladdy still needs to work on a few things in his approach, and when he does, he'll probably blow everyone out of the water.
But yeah, I've been a big Teo fan for a while now. I wonder when the rest of the league will take notice.

Fantastic return for Francisco Liriano!
He was an all star so the league has given some notice . But I agree he still does somewhat stand in the shadows of Vladdy Bo Marcus and Springer.

That is the kind of outing the team needs to see from Matz every time.

He won a silver slugger last year as well. Yeah, the rest of the league knows who he is.

Report: Otto Lopez Called Up
Quote:
Lopez started the season in New Hampshire and hit .330/.397/.457 with 3 home runs in 69 games. They moved him up to Buffalo on August 2nd. In 11 games there he hit .282/.404/.410 with 2 triples, 1 double, 5 steals (0 times caught) in 11 games. He’s played CF, LF, RF, SS, and 2B this season. He is an RHB.
We were told that George Springer hasn’t likely to go on the IL, but maybe he isn’t doing as well as we were told. Or perhaps, Bo Bichette is hurting more than we thought. He didn’t exactly look healthy in Sunday’s game. The other possibility is they have given up on Breyvic Valera already.

Got a little bit of help on the OOT last night with Oakland losing. They're in tough against the White sox for a couple more too.
Other good OOT news is the Yanks and Sox are facing off for a 4 game series. So if they Jays can win these games against the Nats they'll pick up ground on one of them. Probably the Red Sox as the Yankees have been on an absolute tear going 11-4 this month and 25-13 since the beginning of July.

This team hasn't been particularly good with dealing with adversity through this season. Hopefully, they can rally for Springer.

This Nats lineup they put out today is awful. Only good player is Soto and hopefully they just pitch around him. That said it seems the Jays always seem to crap the bed in these types of games.
