So I assume treliving doesn't have all his eggs in the eichel basket. If eichel lands elsewhere or isn't moved, what do you think might be plan b targets to shake up the forward group?
Tarasenko? Anyone else? It's gotten awfully quiet, with the flames sitting with a lot of cap on their hands.

IDK what you're talking about, I've always considered Dvořák to be one of the great 19th century composers.

I'm getting the sense this could already be the roster that's headed to training camp.

Is Monahan for Dumba still a thing?

Not really. Dvorak would be an upgrade at 2nd line C.

Don't want Dvorak. Maybe he's an upgrade, but the upgrade is so marginal that its just not worth whatever assets you're being asked to give up to get him.

vs Monahan and Lindholm? No he isn't.
It would be an upgrade to the lineup, in that you could move Lindholm or Monahan to the wing. And that would push Mangiapane down to the 3rd line. So you have more depth, and a stronger top 9 overall, but the C position is weakened.
And that would be it for cap space

A few names that might be available.
Debrusk - another lw but in need of a change of scenery
Kerfoot - Toronto needs to lose cap. But is he better than the c we have?
Lebanc - on the block with SJ and is a rh rw which would fill a need
Domi - out with shoulder surgery. Ufa but might fit with Sutter system
Rakell - ufa at end of year. Anaheim probably looking for prospect/pick
Forsberg - same as Rakell.
Connor brown - good chemistry with mangiapane at worlds
Carson Soucy - physical d that is from Viking. Would be hard to play against.

So in other words, it’s Eichel or bust.

San Jose was such a tire fire that you have to wonder what Leblanc would look like on a new team. He is intriguing for someone that might be available at a reasonable cost with enough potential to rebound and be a decent contributor in the middle of the lineup. There would have to be retention involved to make it interesting though.

I know everyone is down on Domi these days, but I think he would be the perfect guy to play under Sutter. He's undersized, but he's tough and scrappy-and he's only 2 seasons removed from 75 points/80PIM. He maybe hasn't had an opportunity the last few years to get any footing, but he's still young. If the price is right, I wouldn't mind him for this team.
Dvorak is fairly lacklustre, but he's another guy who could flourish here IMO-plus, he would have his buddy Chucky.

I really like Domi, but he's a pending UFA, makes 5.3M against the cap and is out until December. I wouldn't want to spend any assets to acquire him, but I would definitely be interested in signing him as a UFA next summer around the 3-3.5M range.
I actually really like Dvorak. I think he has a chance to "pop" with a change of scenery. Lindholm-lite like when we acquired him from Carolina, but the cost would be lower, I would think. I'm in favour of getting him. Not an Eichel type blockbuster but honestly I think has the potential to be a more impact trade than Eichel (after taking into account what it would cost to get Eichel, plus his injury concern).

I am for once excited Flames D looks green and not elite. Flames have always have a top D core on paper but never performed.
Monahan , valamaki and Dube for Eichel
Kingston+ for Lebanc
Gadreau - Eichel - lebanc
MT - Lindholm - Coleman
Lucic - Backlund - magipagne
