I've read too many good things to not play it, so I'll be firing up Disco Elysium tonight. Doesn't hurt that it's 40% off on the PlayStation store right now.

Having to play the playstation port is unfortunate, but still better than nothing. It's so, so good.

Maybe it's patched now but I played it when it first came out earlier in the year and you could tell that the game was not designed with a controller in mind. Didn't really distract from my enjoyment as it was maybe the most unique game I have ever played.

Two things.

First, I think it has been patched, but it's still obviously a port of a game meant for a mouse. But it gets more people playing it which is worth it.

Second, unique means one of a kind. There are no degrees of uniqueness. A game can't be more or less unique than another game. It either is or isn't. Yes I am aware this is pedantic but I can't live with myself if I let this sort of thing go.

Yeah, I played Apex on the XBox first, so I'll go back to it. It ran pretty nicely, too. I don't have/use a microphone hence why I don't usually team up.

Forza Horizon 5 on the XSX:

I am not a big racing game guy but the overall visuals have me excited.

The part where he just drives through a bunch of trees and fences like it's no big deal is pretty dumb.

It's just part of the "unique" charm that it has

FH games are some of the most fun racing games out there, and this game looks to be no different. It looks incredible for being on the XSX. I find it's a perfect blend of arcade/sim. There's so much customization for the vehicles, and the online features work great (it's so easy to find new tunes/paint jobs). Instant day 1 download - another great deal for Gamepass

Yeah maybe. I am not a big racing game guy, but I do prefer them to be as close to sims as possible. I considered actually building a full simulator chair for VR racing but I don't think the tech is there to be convincing enough yet.

I was pretty impressed with the Forza Simulator at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, but the technology isn't quite affordable for home use. I believe they mentioned it was a $60,000-70,000 setup.

I think this is a similar setup - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9XMmPzkFeE which mentions the $70,000 price tag.

Well the Forza Horizon series wouldn't be for you then, the Forza Motorsport one would. That's the Xbox equivalent of the Gran Turismo games. Personally I find the full racing sim games boring, I like to do stupid #### in cars that you could only ever do in a video game. I loved the old Burnout and Need For Speed games for that reason

IMO the most fun I've ever had on a racing game is Burnout 3 and Project Gotham Racing 2. I also find the sims kind of boring.

And let's be a little more honest, Forza Motorsport is a much better game than Gran Turismo.

Agreed on this but I'd push it out to Burnout Revenge and PGR3. Those games came out months apart in 2005 and had gotta be the best 1-2 punch in racing game history.

I loved anything Burnout, I had so much fun smashing through cars and semi's to see how many points I could get. Easily the most I have ever played racing games. I also absolutely loved Destruction Derby on the original PlayStation.

Lately Wreckfest has scratched that itch.

Despite being an arcade game, I do wish Forza Horizon cars had better physics. I wanna do stupid stuff with them, but I do wish it felt vaguely like a car. Driving in GTA feels better, which is disappointing because everything else about FH is awesome

Although maybe 5 will be better, I'm looking forward to trying it. Gamepass ftw

Burnout 3 was one of my all time favorite games to play. Burnout Paradise wasn't too bad either.

Oh hell yeah. PGR3 and Burnout Revenge were the first two games I bought when I picked up an Xbox 360 (much later than everyone else who bought at launch) along with NHL 07. So much fun, I wish PGR3 was backward compatible (licensing for cars and music likely holds that back).

Finally finished Doom Eternal, yes I know it came out like three years ago. I had played it before on PS4 but gave up on an early level cause I just couldn't get the platforming. Fast forward to a month or so ago and I got a new gaming laptop and picked it up on a steam sale. Start playing again and finally the platforming just *clicked* Very challenging game for me even on the easy level but had a nice sense of accomplishment when I finished it. Fantastic game, looking forward to the extra DLC levels now.
