Really wish we had swept the BSux, but I'll take 3-1 against ALEast rivals any days of the week. Especially when we're 8-2 and theyre 2-8 in the last 10.

Vladdy's drive late in game 3 was a couple feet from it being a sweep.

But 3 out of 4, and a 9-2 homestand, got the job done and launched them fully into the playoff race.

If the roof was open that Vladdy ball was gone. There was another close one in the Indians game they lost as well. So like a grand total of 8' from an 11-0 homestand.

Sucks that there's no game tonight. Looks like I'll have to keep my eye on the Yankee's game and hope for a Royal upset.

I really like Buck and Tabby!

I don't know them and they are of a different generation in terms of how and what they try and elaborate on (mentality of player vs pure analytics- I use online resources so I don't need analytics every where)

but I just get sense they are both good, decent men who love baseball and seeing Jays be successful.
To each their own though.

With Sunday's big comeback against the Red Sox, the Jays are 10-2 over their past 12 games. We know they can score runs in bunches, but they've thrown three shutouts in that span and allowed one run in two other games. Robbie Ray has three scoreless outings in three of his past seven starts, as he has cut down on the home runs allowed, lowering his season ERA to 2.90.

Needs to get it going: Record in one-run games

The Jays are 21-10 in blowout games (decided by five or more runs) but just 8-13 in one-run games. But they had a one-run victory in Saturday's doubleheader and then Sunday's 9-8 win, so maybe they'll start winning those games -- really, they haven't had that many in the first place, with the fewest one-run games played in the majors.

Schedule note: They're done with Boston but will have two series each against the Rays and Yankees in September, plus one series against Oakland early in that month.

I’ve met Buck. Delightful human being who makes time for every single fan. I used to live in the same building as him and the guy has a smile on his face everyday.

I’m not the biggest Buck play by play person and probably think he’s better suited to colour commentary though.

No problem with Buck, but he is a better color guy, like he was with Hugson so many years ago on TSN.

Shulman is top notch.

I do find it odd that Buck doesn't go into more old time stories.Catchers usually have the best stories. Nevermind that, he managed the Jays for 1.25 seasons with no prior experience so should have some insight there too, but he never brings that up. Same with Team USA.

Tabby too, not nearly as many stories as you'd think or expect from a guy that played 1200 games and on the WS Champions. Though Tabby is becoming more and more as the "keep your feet moving and go hard to the net" cliche machine like Charlie Simmer was.

The Buck and Dan team is really good IMO. Dan brings out the best in everyone and Buck doesn't have to carry too much weight.

Buck and Pat tend to be more repetitive, homerish, and cliched.

I still really like Buck but I think he needs a strong partner.

I find Buck has become more of a grumpy old man the last few years. Doesn't like catchers on their knees and is always sure to mention when a shift is the reason for a hit. But overall he's fine.

They should find people who can get into the park now when they can. They had no idea what was a home run and what a routine fly ball for the entire Boston series.

Catchers getting on one knee is stupid, and these shifts are out of control.

Hahaha. I was going to say the same thing. I'd love to see the league reduce the shift - ie prior to the pitch being delivered, the third baseman must be to the right (their right) of the SS, the SS and third baseman must be to the right of second, etc.

Shading one way or the other is ok but a full shift is stupid.

Whats wrong with the shift? Its a risk/reward move, and forcing the 3B and SS to be right of 2nd base would really impact the game by unnecessarily handicapping (generally) only one of LHB/RHB hitters.

Fielders can play wherever they want aside from the Catcher and Pitcher. Ive seen 4 in the outfield and pretty sure ive seen 4 in the infield before on at bats.
