No, I'm just saying that the Republicans would have handled this differently and would have made everything go away. Add to that, conservatives don't give a #### about this woke stuff. In fact, when one of their guys does it, they get him a seat on the SCOTUS or as POTUS as a reward! The contrast is stark and is part of what divides this country. Liberals, especially the woke type, lose their #### over this and make sure they get their pound of flesh to make them feel better over such things, guilty or not. Conservatives, especially the Trump conservatives, don't give a #### about sexual harassment and don't think it exists - the woman put herself out there. Just pointing out how ####ed up the United States is.
Cuomo will get what he deserves, but you can bet this wouldn't be an issue if he were a Republican.
It's not really about getting a pound of flesh. The guy committed workplace harassment/assault, which violates NY State law. He should be impeached. He also was responsible for the deaths of thousands of seniors last year and probably should have been impeached for that.
If you want to look at it from a purely, pragmatic, political perspective; Republicans continue to lose ground with women voters because of how gross they are on these issues. If you follow their lead, it levels the moral high ground with said voters. But it's pretty gross to reduce the human costs of what happened to these women to political calculations, IMO.

Sacrifice one of their own to win a game no one cares about? That is certainly one way to look at someone being held accountable for a pattern of both years and years of this behaviour and eleven women being the recipients of workplace sexual harassment.
It’s an asinine, antiquated, and repulsive way of looking at it but yes it is definitely a way someone is allowed to view that.

So Democrats shouldn’t oust people who sexually harass people because it hurts their leadership? People who do this are not leaders of the Democratic Party. If republicans want to continue to stand behind gross people, they will just continue to marginalized themselves. Why do you care if this is a divide? It should be a divide. Democrats don’t want to vote for people who do these (or other “non woke”) activities.
PS. Using the word “woke” to invalidate sexual assault allegations doesn’t make you sound like you think it does.
Republicans not only stand behind gross people, they adore these gross people. One of the problems is the rugged American individualism that is broadly embraced across this nation. Those "woke" behaviors of the left make the people who embrace this value, and there as many on the left as there are on the right, to look at these things as unAmerican. It's bizarre, but it's the way things are and something people from other countries need to understand. There are things that we Canadians look at and say, are these people morons for not recognizing the folly of their ways, but Americans just look at it as part of being an American and maintaining our values. I miss Canada when I see stuff like this play out, because Canadians (for now anyway) are all pretty much on the same page when it comes to this stuff. It isn't acceptable regardless of your leanings or political identification.

Cuomo should twist. He will get what he deserves for his actions, which are nothing to celebrate in shape or form. There is no argument there.
What I am trying to get you guys to understand is how this impacts the political sphere in the United States and the differences in perspectives. The Cuomo situation would only play out like it is in a Democrat controlled state. Much worse is happening in Republican controlled states and no one gives #### about it. Oh, and Republicans GAINED support from women in 2020.
"Trump won a slightly larger share of women’s votes in 2020 than in 2016 (44% vs. 39%), while Biden’s share among women was nearly identical to Clinton’s (55% vs. 54%)."
"The card you select will be carried by Patriots all around the Country," the first email said. "They will be a sign of your dedicated support to our movement to SAVE AMERICA, and I'm putting my full trust in you."
The Trump team said in a follow-up email, "We're about to launch our Official Trump Cards, which will be reserved for President Trump's STRONGEST supporters."
I am laughing at how dumb people are, but also cry at how dumb people are...

I've been on the Trump/Republican mailing list for years now, get 3 or 4 emails begging for money under the cover of scam opinion surveys, his and their digital operation is total rubbish if they cant work out that:-
I live in Canada
I'm a Canadian British
I'm leftier leaning than Rubecube, its only age and experience that stops me from calling for the nationalisation of the banks

I don't think that's leftier than me, tbh. I believe banks and natural resources should be nationalized. Probably telecommunications as well. I'm also pragmatic to understand I'm never going to see that in Canada in my lifetime.
Fox’s Tucker Carlson is currently in Budapest, airing his show from Hungary’s capital city. In his Monday monologue, Carlson told his listeners that they should pay attention to Hungary “if you care about Western civilization, and democracy, and family — and the ferocious assault on all three of those things by leaders of our global institutions.” He tweeted out a friendly photo with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and is confirmed to speak at a government-supported conference in Budapest on Saturday.
Make no mistake: Fox’s marquee host is aligning himself with a ruler who has spent the past 11 years systematically dismantling Hungary’s free political system.
A 2021 report from V-Dem, the leading academic institute assessing the state of global democracy, found that Hungary crossed the line into autocracy in 2018. In March, Orbán’s Fidesz party was pushed out of the EPP, an alliance of center-right European parties, because its European peers felt it had strayed too far into authoritarian territory.
Honestly, I think one of the worst things centrists have done over the last several years has been the humanizing of fascism in the name of liberalism and discourse. These people are disingenuous grifters or (worse) zealots, and you should not seek common ground with them.
