Vancouver
San Jose
Anaheim
The Kings potentially have Kaliyev, Byfield, and Vilardi all really establishing themselves this year. They're also going to be supported by a number of very strong defensive players up front. I think the Kings are poised to impress.

Fans always expect kids to have more impact than they will (like Ottawa last year and Jersey before that). Guys like Byfield might make the team and put up some points, but they aren't going to make LA a playoff team yet.

Because there's no trade to be made? If Buffalo's ask is still crazy high, then there probably isn't a deal there to be made. Until Buffalo drops their price, there is no deal to be made, with anyone.

Not in a normal division, but as you said, the Pacific is garbage.

So exactly how I handicapped them, except I like Calgary a little more than Vegas does (no surprise there).
Vegas, then a gap, then EDM and CGY, then a gap, then VAN and SEA, then a gap, then the rest of California.

Yes, for sure. LA could make the playoffs, simply because the Pacific is complete garbage. But just looking at LA on their own, they are not close to being a playoff team.

I like L.A.s prospects a lot, but they're still weak on D and in net

Still no news, eh. I wish something would happen with this Eichel thing already so we can all move on with our lives.

That seems fair.
Though I think at some point Vegas is going to start to drop - they have an aging club with very little in the pipeline. They are probably going to be good this season but i think the fall is coming.

Tkachuch for Eichel, 1 for 1, nothing retained. The situation with Eichel in Buffalo is toxic, the cap hit is higher, he will miss considerable time after recovering from surgery, he may no longer be a franchise player after the surgery, and there is a risk that he will never play again. If the Sabres want Kylington, 10% of Eichel's salary retained. If they want Valimaki instead, 30% of Eichel's salary retained. If that's not enough, add a 2nd if he plays in 10 playoff games this year and gets 10 playoff points. That is all, take it or leave it.

This kind of feels like the Lindros sweepstakes. Not saying Eichel is Lindros, just saying the situations feel similar to me.
Flames were rumoured to be in on it and had a strong package of current players with Nieuwendyk as the centrepiece, but other teams like the Flyers had a bluechip piece in Forsberg.
I was bitterly disappointed as the Flames were similar to now, as a team that had stagnated and needed a change. The core was similar in age to the current core with Fleury, Roberts, Nieuwendyk, Reichel all in that 21 to 26 age range but with the defense being older (Suter and Macinnis at 28 and 29)
Things only got worse from there. Nieuwendyk played a few more seasons as the team wallowed in mediocrity until he eventually forced a trade out (Iggy!), then Roberts wanted out, Macinnis wanted out, Suter wanted out.
There were many dark years to follow.
I guess that's why I'm in favour of acquiring Eichel, I understand the risk with his health, but I'm just not comfortable with the status quo.
But who knows, maybe the Flames miss out on Eichel and we keep the core in tact and go in win the Cup next season.

In my head, Tre has laid out his offer and said “call me if you’re serious”. And has displayed that he’s perfectly content going into the season with what he as if Adam’s doesn’t want to be real.

I can't believe this is 124 pages now without any real news!
Every day I skim through it and see the same trade proposals and arguments about cap space and injuries.

And I think this scenario is in play across the League. All the teams with serious offers are simply waiting for Buffalo to come off of their ask. People stomping their feet about why this hasn't been consummated, or why Treliving isn't being more aggressive in his negotiation are missing what seems pretty obvious: that the ask from Buffalo is far too high, that it could take several more weeks yet for it to come down, and the final deal will almost certainly be for much less than what has been reported.

There’s zero chance Brad is content going into a season with his job on the line with what he have
Changes are still coming. I know he doesn’t think Zadorov is a Giordano replacement
Expect a top 4 LD at the very least. It might not be Eichel but Treliving can’t be done, or he’s done

Say what you will about this team's management, but this fanbase gets stuff done.
Stuff being moot forum threads.

I don't think he is. Or he wouldn't be in serious trade talks. But I do think it's a reasonable bargaining position. Without the Eichel deal, despite the doom and gloom of many here, this team is still competitive. Not the type of competitive that we (or Tre) wants, but enough that he doesn't have to get bent over by a bad trade.

Don't you usually start the prospects ranking thing by now? That would give people something else to argue over.
