If we had Eichel he would be our best player. When you add a guy that knocks guys down your best player list I can dramatically improve your team
It happened before when Lindholm and Tkachuk passed monahan.
How often can you add your best player and not trade any of your current best players?

True, and although it seemed a little crazy before, with some of the contracts handed out recently, his deal could look real good with a likely rebound playing with superstar winger(s).

I remember following the NCAA closely in 2015 because of Providence, it was the season they had Jankowski/Gilmour/Gilles and they won the Frozen 4
That was Eichels first and only NCAA season. He led the nation in scoring as a freshman, and was only the 2nd freshman to ever win the Hobey Baker other than Kariya in '93
For comparison Cole Caufield was the runaway winner this year for the Hobey Baker with 52 points. Eichels had 71
Gaudreau and Eichel are 2 of the best NCAA players of all time, I want both of them

I can’t wait for this Eichel saga to be over so Tre can actually focus on moves that won’t gut the entire roster/prospect pool for a broken $50MM question mark……. Very little chance he comes here and I am personally ok with that.

You should look deeper and listen to his doctor speak on the subject.

Eichel is going to cost something like this:
Monahan or Tkachuk
Mangiapane or Dube
A top prospect
A high pick, depending on strength of prospect
You then have Eichel upgrading the top line, a prospect hopefully recovering the second line in time, and the cost is some prospect depth.
If Monahan is the one to go, might force Lucic out next off-season to pay raises. If it's Tkachuk, Lucic expires with Monahan.
Possible package I would like to move:
Monahan (direct positional upgrade)
Mangiapane (hate to lose him, but he's gonna get paid)
Kylington (sell depth)
2023 1st. (Keep 2022 1st if possible)
I could see Buffalo wanting Pelletier over Kylington, and possibly the 2022 1st instead. I would counter with a second rounder if Pelletier is the one leaving

No other fan base has been this enthusiastic about adding a player like Eichel like we have. We deserve this damn it! I will be straight up devastated if Treliving doesn't pull this off after all this talk.

I don't know about that. At this point we're still very much in the running and it sounds like we're one of 2, maybe 3 teams that have a real shot at getting him. Sure, it might not happen. But at least Tre is making a strong push, which is encouraging and shows that he's serious about making big changes to this roster.

If they want Pelletier instead of Kylington then they take Dube….
Monahan, Dube, Zary/Pelletier, 1st 2022 or 2023.
I would personally rather keep Dube and give up an additional pick,
Monahan, Zary/Pelletier, 1st 2022/23, 2nd 2022/23
Gaudreau Eichel Tkachuk
Mangiapane Lindholm Coleman/Dube
Lucic Backlund Coleman/Dube
Ritchie Lewis Pitlick
Hanifin Tanev
Zadarov Andersson
Valimaki Stone/Kylington
Markstrom
Vlader
Anything outside those packages you walk.

The fervor in the fanbase is getting weird. Someone on twitter last night had a written chant they were doing to try and will Eichel onto the Flames.

Some people will lose their minds, for sure. The rest of us will shrug, move on with our lives, and enjoy the rest of the summer and the upcoming season. Personally I'm at an age where I just don't get that worked up about this kind of stuff anymore. I'll be a Flames fan forever and of course I want to see them do well and be able to snag those big free agents. But if they don't? Meh, whatever. It's just sports.

I don't think there is a plan B that would alter the Flames top 6 such as Eichel. There's no other #1 centers available, so yeah if he goes somewhere else it would be crushing.

My guess is we see him traded elsewhere, for a package that seems underwhelming that we argue should have easily beaten, and the board explodes in outrage, but we all carry on with being fans because we're closet masochists.

You just need to be prepared.
If Eichel goes somewhere else, then good. He's an injury riddled diva who has no leadership skills and will likely LTIRetire in the next two seasons. Whatever package he's traded for will cripple whichever organization gave up massive assets and mortgaged their future to obtain him.
If Eichel comes to Calgary, then great. He's the missing cog in our Stanley Cup contending (and winning) team. He will mesh perfectly with our roster and is everything we need to become a winner. His injury will heal in no time and thanks to the advances in modern medicine he'll be at 100%, propelling us to victory on his back. The assets we trade will fade into obscurity and we'll look back on this moment in 10 years as the turning point of our franchise.

I would love if they accepted:

If they would consider this package, make the trade now Brad!
